A while ago, Angie and her daughters left the hotel to go prep for the wedding. My dad was tired from driving, so he's napping right now.
We decided to check in 2 rooms, one for my dad and I, and the other for Angie and her daughters. Its roughly 7:30 as I'm looking through my bag to make sure I have everything; making sure that my extra clothes are at the bottom to absorb the shock when I drop my bag to the ground.
Covering everything up with the books again, I hear my dad toss and turn behind me. I quickly zip my bag close and stay quiet on the floor.
He sits up and looks at me with squinting eyes, I pretend to be on my phone. "What are you doing?" He asks groggily, "reading." "On the floor?" Well I am sitting on the floor with my back against the chair. "Yeah, it's surprisingly comfortable, you should try it."
He looks to his right, out the window. "What time is it? Is Angie back yet?" "7:30, and the girls will be back in a little bit." He looks back to me then closes his eyes.
"I'm gonna go back to sleep, wake me up when they come back." I nod my head before he lays back down. Letting out my breath, I start to text him.
~texting~
Kat:hey, my dad's asleep and the girls are out. Could we meet in the lobby? I'm not ready to leave yet though, I still plan on leaving at night.
???: sure, but why not now? It seems like the perfect time for escape.
Kat: yeah, but this is that last time I will be with my dad. I want to stay a little longer, plus Angie could come back at any minute.
???:good point. Meet me at the vending machines in the lobby.
~texting end~
I feel kind of excited to meet him, it'll be the first time I hear his voice, we've only ever texted.
Not wanting to wait any longer, I slowly get up to see my dad's breathing has steadied; signaling he fell asleep already. I grab the room keycard and rush out of the room. I keep running towards the elevators when I hear my text notification go off.
I check my phone as I keep running.
~
???:I can't wait to meet you. :)
~Smiling, I turn my phone off. When I look up, I'm already in front of the elevator. I jab the down botton, guessing what he'll sound like.
Finally the doors open and let me inside. Waiting in the elevator took forever, I think the stairs would've been faster.
When the doors open, I instantly break into sprinting when I see someone about to cross paths with me. My eyes go wide as I try to slow down but I trip on the carpet in front of the elevator instead.
Then they suddenly turn around unexpectedly as I fall on them. They lose their balance and fall with me. I shut my eyes and gasp, waiting for the impact; but it never comes.
After 2 seconds, I decide to open my eyes. They I come face to face with a very cute guy, but to the point where he could be gay. I laugh mentally as i stare at him for a second, while he stares back. Then I come back to my senses and take notice to our position.
He's holding both my shoulders with his hands, and my knee between his legs. I feel heat rise up to my cheeks. "Umm...thank you for catching me." I smile awkwardly. "No problem, name's Chase." He smiles back.
He has dark brown hair with chocolate brown eyes, has about the same body sculpture as '???'. I hope to learn his name too. Wait, I need to meet him!
"It was nice meeting you!" I quickly say getting up. "But I have to be somewhere." I help him up and he looks intently at my eyes. I then feel like shrinking away, I've always felt nervous under people's gazes.
Then he leans in closer. I lean away, him still looking at my eyes. He walks closer, then my lower back hits a lamp table. I grab the edge of it, still leaning away. Fuck, is he gonna kiss me? I need to get away. At least I know he isn't gay.
"Umm...I think I'll go now. I point to my left and make an attempt to step aside, but he puts his arms on either side of me; grabbing the table as well.
Then he smirks at me. My eyes go wide and I start to panic, but then there was another voice to my left."Excuse me, Kat, is this guy bothering you?" I look towards the voice and she him. Of course he comes to the rescue.
He looks even handsomer close up."No trouble here, I was just going to ask her for her number. Why? Are you her boyfriend?" He turns his head to him smiling, still trapping me with his arms. I look back to the guy with disbelief.
"No, just a close friend of hers." He squints his eyes toward this stranger. "So you won't mind if I ask for 'Kat's' number?" The boy smirks back at me.
I lean back again, not wanting to risk him kissing me."Fine by me, but only if she wants to." When I hear my so called 'close friend' say that, I can tell he isn't happy about this situation either. "So, would you be so kind and give me your number?" Looking expectantly at me, I gulp from nervousness.
"No" then his smirk turns into a blank face. So I push my way out his arms to walk to my 'friend'. Then he chuckles with a renewed smirk.
"Wasn't expecting that, you'll obviously change your mind in the future, Ms. kat." I scoff and keep walking without looking back.
"If I wanted to kill myself, I would climb up your ego then jump down to your IQ level. Go try you charms on a girl worth your time, because this one ain't gonna give."
Grabbing my 'friend's' wrist, I pull him out from the hall, and to the main lobby. Once I reach the hotel cafe, I look back to my 'friend' to see him suppressing a laugh. "What's so funny?" I raise my eyebrow.
With an awkward face, he replies, " you should've turned around, he looked like he saw a ghost!haha, probably never been told off by a girl before." I smiled slightly, imagining his face after I bitched at him.
"Anyways, I would like to know your name, I don't know what to call you." I slightly chuckle at my imagination and the names that could possibly be his.
"I suppose it isn't fair that I know yours when you don't know mine." we sit down across from each other when he finally tells me.
"The name's Reid"
