I finally arrived back at my flat, with carrier bags filled to the rim, hanging form my arms. I couldn't hold them up much longer, the weight of the bags was indenting my skinn with red marks. My keys were being gritted in between my teeth, I desperatley tried to grasp the keys in my hand, but the bags were dragging me down. I suddenly felt the weight lift from my arms as the bags were lifted, I glanced behind me to see a blonde boy gazing at me, holding the bags in his hands.

"Thanks, I was struggling a bit there" Unlocking the door as I spoke.

"Ha, yeah, need me to bring the bags in for you?"

His voice was soft like velvet and his smile was bright and made me feel warm. His shiny blonde locks hung just above his ear and his deep brown eyes were dull, but his smile made up for it.

"Yeah, that would help a lot actually"

I returned his smile and pushed the door open, stumbling under the weight of the bags as I walked in to the flat. I switched on the light and carefully placed the bags on the side and beginning to unpack the contents. The boy mimicked my moves.

"Thanks a lot, I'm Amy by the way, do you live in the building? I don't think I've seen you before."

He finished unpacking the carrier bag and then spoke.

"I'm Chris and ohh no, I was just visiting my girlfriend, do you know her? Melanie?"

"I don't think so, and I thought I knew everyone in the building."

I winked and he laughed in return.

"She's just moved in, it'd mean a lot if you could help her get used to the building? amybe be her friend? she doesnt really know anyone here and um..I want to  help her but I live far away and um.."

He scratched the back of his neck, obviously from feeling nervous.

"Of course! Which flat does she live in?"

His face lit up.

"Next door, 4b!"

A huge grin spread across his face, I smiled back at him. You couldn't not feel happy around this guy. He grabbed a pen and paper form the side and scribbled down hsi number, handing it to me.

"Heres my number, call me if you need anything, thanks again"

He was already walking out.

"No, thank you for the help with the bags!"

He laughed while closing the door.

I needed to go pick up Becky in less than an hour, I really needed to get my act together. I unpacked all the goodies from the bags and put them in some bowls. I placed the bowls on the coffee tables surrounding the sofa. I grabbed blankets and duvets from my bedroom and threw them to the floor, where the televsion stood. I then switched on the lamps and turned off the main light. It was time to get Becky.
