How long have you been writing dialogue stories for on Wattpad?
The Phone Buddy was the first dialogue story I've written and the first version of it was put out on the twelfth of February this year. It's been half a year and it still seems so surreal.
How and / or why did you start?
I've always been the person to imagine and create random conversations inside my head, so I've always had love for dialogue. And of course, amazing dialogue stories were taking Wattpad by storm and I wanted one (which probably is crappy, but still) under my name (let's just say I attempted to write full length fiction and that didn't exactly work out).
Thus, Artis decided to try something new and wrote the first sixteen parts to The Phone Buddy at two a.m. on a school night and she's thankful for everyone who has read it. She also does not know why she addressing herself in third person.
Where do you get your inspiration for your stories?
I don't really have a specific source for my ideas, of I'm being honest. The world, in itself is very interesting – a random call may lead to the break of a sweet romance (though that is highly unlikely, but a girl can dream), and candy stores are hoards of sugar filled goodness – we just have to manipulate them into stories :)
Why do you enjoy writing dialogue stories?
Just like everyone else, I enjoy them because they're quick and easy to both read and write. Also because I'm incapable of writing proper description (my first story was chick lit and terrible, so let's not talk about that hehe), short stories were always my favourite genre and dialogue stories are just the icing on the cake.
How long does it take you to complete a dialogue story?
If I do get enough time away from school work, I work pretty fast on dialogue stories. It took me less than a month's time to complete The Phone Buddy, but The Candy Calls has been ongoing for about five months (education is a pain, sigh) so I'd say it depends, really.
What advice would you give to other dialogue writers?
The key to creating an easy and fun read is keeping your dialogues simple and realistic. Even for short stories, have an in depth knowledge of your character and how he/she reacts to various situations. Take it easy, guys. Write for you, and you'll do absolutely fantastic.
Why did you join Textroverts?
I love dialogue books and the all members of this account are some of the most wonderful people I've had the pleasure to meet – I just had to join because it screamed fun and excitement to me, and I'm really glad that I did <3
What's your favourite dialogue story?
Oh, hard one. I've had the most wonderful time reading dialogue written by everyone in this lot (not really group promotion, I genuinely love them with all my heart) so go check them out and if you are a lover of dialogue, you'll enjoy them as much as I did!
Who's your favourite dialogue writer?
I'm in such a dilemma, haha. I'd say Yilei (evethespy), Jas (YaWeirdo), Skye (frecklefaced) and Vanz (tangentialx) never fail to make me smile and Lara (milkdrunk) left me in tears. Josephine (dandelions) has beautiful stories too.
That's a lot of people, dear god (I love them all, though).
Tell us something interesting about yourself!
Fun fact about me, when I was in third grade I used to look down the balcony of my apartment and throw eggs and tomatoes at people who'd walk by. Clearly, I was so nice to everyone back then.
