The light found its way through my curtains and beamed right onto my face.
I wiped my eyes and sat up from my bed. I stretched and yawned for a good minute and finally walked to the bathroom. I turned on the shower but there was no water. " shit." I mumbled. "I forgot to pay the damn water bill. " I turned around and faced the sink to splash cold water in my face.
I walked out into my room. " well shit, that means no coffee." I grunted all the way to my closet and pulled out a white t-shirt and threw on the black jeans I wore yesterday. I slipped on my black timberlands and walked out the door and then I walked back in not even 3 seconds later. I grabbed my maroon jacket I had hanging up on the coat rack and walked back out. " and im back" I grunted. I grabbed my beanie off the table.I looked both ways on the side walk and headed to the coffee shop.
" um, a medium cup of black coffee ." "Alright, $2.48"
She handed me my coffee as I handed her the money.
The cup was warm and got warmer as I held it. I sat down at the table closes to the window. I took a sip of my coffee as I watched this girl walk past the window and enter the café. She looked over in my direction and smiled , I looked behind me to see if she was smiling at someone else, but Nope, she was smiling at me. I looked away from her and stared out the window. I glanced back over to see her walking towards me. I shifted uncomfortably. " may I sit?" She asked. Her voice was scratchy. I just stared at her. " sorry, I'm Emma." She held her hand out but I didn't shake it I just stared at her. " we go to school together." She mentioned. " may I sit?" Her eyes were this light shade of blue, like the sky on a sunny day. " im sorry to bother you, I'll go." I let her walk away. I didn't want to talk to her. I didn't want to talk to anyone. Why did she want to sit with me? I went back to staring out the window. She passed by and I looked down at my coffee. " I hate the sun." I mumbled.
