-Ashley's POV-

I screamed loudly, causing Wesley to frantically ask what was wrong. "Oh my gosh, what do I do, what do I do!?!?!?" I kept screaming. It was a tiny apartment, the whole thing could be up in flames within 5 seconds. Not to mention I was on the third floor. There was no time to wait for help. I had to jump, there was no choice.

"Ash, please tell me what's going on!?" Wesley kept asking through the phone. I didn't have time to explain. I hung up without giving him the slightest idea of what was going on. I dropped the phone and ran. I needed a new one anyway.

I reached my bedroom window, the one farthest away from the flames, giving me more thinking time. Not that I needed it, but just in case. I opened my window, looked down, and gulped. It was a long drop, thankfully on the grass. I'd rather do this than be eaten alive by the fire. I pushed the mesh screen out the window, climbed over the sill and sat there, mentally preparing for the drop. 'I need to do this...I need to do this.." I kept reassuring myself. Soon enough, I pushed myself off and let myself fall. When I hit the ground, I found I couldn't move my leg. Neighbours came rushing out, trying to help me off the ground without hurting me. The flames were now visible, pouring out of my once-bedroom window. I had made it out just in time. At least I survived the fall. A broken leg compared to dying was 100 times better.

-Wesley's POV-

I got a call around 10 minutes after Ashley hung up on me, telling me to meet her at her apartment. I didn't know who it was speaking, but it came from her phone. What happened to Ashley??

When me, Keaton and Drew got there, we saw her with her arms around strangers, and only her right leg was on the ground. The other one she was holding up. The second thing I noticed was the flames burning down the apartment. There were people everywhere: kids, pets, parents. They were wrapped in blankets and some were even sobbing. I parked and ran out the car, wanting to help Ashley. "Ashley, babe, what's wrong? And how did this happen?" I asked, pointing at the engulfed apartment. "Is this your boyfriend, dear?" one of the lady's holding her up asked her. "Yes ma'am" she responded, when Keaton appeared next to me, offering for us to take over. They agreed, and carefully handed her over to us.

-Ashley's POV-

"Wes, I'm so sorry I didn't explain what happened. I had no time to." I poorly explained to Wes. "Well what did happen?" he asked looking sympathetic. "Okay, well I was talking to you, and I smelled smoke. So I walked out of the room and saw my living room was practically on fire. Then I just hung up on you. And I jumped from that window up there." I pointed to my "window" that wasn't even there anymore. "Oh" was all he could manage to say, "well what caused the fire?" "I don't know-" I was interrupted by sirens of a firetruck and ambulance coming down the road in front of the complex. The ambulance parked about 5 feet away from me and two paramedics came rushing out of the vehicle with a gurney. Wes and Keats helped me on and the paramedics lifted me up in the back of the ambulance. I took one last look around the complex to see what was happening. The firetruck was already spraying gallons of water at the fire while residents watched in peril. Then, out of the corner of my eye, by the bushes of the complex entrance, I saw the smiling face of-

my dad.

A/N Yeah I know, who else would it be? -_- But you all got an update. A short update, but an update. I'm not the type of writer to write five pages in one chapter. But hope you all enjoyed, I wonder what's gonna happen to her dad, or even her? Next chapter will tell you. ;) Btw you guys should follow me. Maybe. If you want.
