In 1773 A Phan fic

Chapter 3

OMG please dont hurt us we are finally back such soz. This chapter may be a little longer than the others so enjoy because you probably wont get another one for a while.

(Phil's  P.O.V)

As I made my way to where the brown haired boy was standing, I decided I should try to make a friend.

"Why hello there, my names Philip Lester, but everyone calls me Phil." I say as I extend my hand for him to shake.

"The names Daniel Howell, but you can call me Dan." He smiled as he extended his hand to shake mine. His smile was so sweet and pure. Wow I'm falling too hard for this boy.

"I saw what happened earlier, glad you made it on time, that would have sucked." He said giggling as he referred to my running late. Oh my lord the boy giggled, he can't get any more adorable.

"Yeah that would have been very unfortunate." I replied. He giggled once more and then we fell into an awkward silence. Phil why did you have to  be so awkward?

" So how old are you Phil?" He said trying to keep the conversation going. 

" I'm 21, and you Danny boy?" I asked, adding the cheeky nickname. "Danny boy?" He asked questioning the nickname. I just shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal, but secretly I hoped I didn't seem creepy.

"Well Philly, I'm 18, Just turned 18 the 11th of June. When is your birthday?" He responded, giving me a nickname.

" The 30th of January. So what made you want to go to the colonies?" I ask, curious.

" Well my family is quite poor, but my father had came into some money recently from one of my relatives and thought it would be good to send me west, get a good job and eventually be able to bring my family over, what about you?" 

I thought for a moment, I didn't want to sound like a rich asshole "Well I thought that  I would have more opportunities in the colonies, that it would give me a fresh start."

He nodded in agreement, I felt like we could be great friends. I was secretly hoping he was gay, but doubting it. Maybe I could not be such a wimp and flirt. Ugh he'd just reject me. Hey, a boy can dream can he?

(Dan's P.O.V.)

I felt like I was dreaming, a very attractive man was actually talking to me. We talked for a while, I found out he liked reading and writing. I share with him my interest in drawing. I figured out he was quite into politics.

" So I heard that the colonies were going to try and break free from the King." I said, starting another conversation.

"As if they would even try, it's a suicide mission" He answered. I was quite surprised with his reaction, he seemed like he was quite certain about his opinion.

" Well don't you think it would be hard to have a ruler from across the seas?" I replied.

" Possibly." He started " But they don't have any armed forces, Britain has the strongest military and navy." 

I mean he did have a point " You do have a point but maybe the colonies could grow and maybe get some allies."

Phil seems to know what hes talking about. We go back and forth for quite some time. 

Hours pass and we still debate about the colonies breaking free. " Its not impossible for the colonies to break free, it may be improbable, but certainly not impossible." I argue.

"Its not gonna happen, it would be a terrible blood bath and Britain would end up winning the war. It would be easier to just stay with our king." he responds, with a growing passion for the topic.

" But what if for some reason it's not easier to sty with the king, we shouldn't have to just be sitting ducks, we should take action." I say.

"A pretty boy like you shouldn't be out taking action in a messy war." He says flirtatiously. I can feel the heat radiate off my cheeks as I look down at the wooden floor of the ship. I have no idea how to respond. Maybe I'll let Phil win this argument for now. 

Damn his charm.
