When we finally arrived at the palace we were all ushered down to the basement. I kept my head down terrified I would be recognised by someone, anyone, who was here when I was last here 2 years ago. I recognised the path we were taking it lead straight to where they held all of the girls who were of the right age for two weeks before the games. I remembered having to bring food down here for the girls the 5 years before i came of age, my mother had made me bring the food down from the kitchen for the girls so that i could see how the games wasn't this magical thing everyone always made it out to be.

"Everyone in here, the games are in 2 days." The guard that walked us down from the vans said, while shoving us into the cell. There was another cell filled with girls, they however looking in better spirits than we were. All the guards disappeared leaving us to ourselves.

"Great, more competition for the prince." One of the girls in the other cell groans.

I rolled my eyes, great a girl who though these games was a completion they were competing in. In truth, they were just prizes to be won in anyway necessary, even if it meant some of them may die while being fought over or for simply getting in the way.

I turned back to the girls I had come in with, they were huddled in groups.

"Girls, remember if you see a wolf coming for you and your in a group. Separate, so that the wolf can take whichever he wants. If you are being fought over, scale a tree, don't stay on the ground where they can rip you apart by accident. Let them fight it out and don't get in the way. Am i understood? We will all make this out alive, there will be no slip ups." I explained to the girls in my cell, make sure to look each and everyone of them in the eye.

"They wont kill us, don't be stupid." The same girl from the other cell stated, scoffing at me.

I turned around to look her in the eye, a serious look on my face.

"I don't know who told you how these games are magical and you find your mate and live happily ever after, because its not like that. My sister died in these games three years ago, I saw everything she saw as two wolves fought over her and the one that lost decided if he couldn't have her no one could and he killed her out of spite. I watched as her best friend was killed for being too close to her when a wolf decided he wanted her. So, no, i'm not being stupid I'm being realistic and warning these girls of what is waiting for them and the best way to avoid dying. If you want to be naive and think that is not going to happen to some of the girls here, then so be it, but I'm going to protect these girls the best I can." I stated, turning from her back to the girls in my cell.

I was tired and sick of having to deal with people who just don't see what things really are. I made my way to the back of the cell where the girls had saved me one of the beds. I knew they did this because I was now in charge due to the fact that Sister Louise and Eva weren't here.

I drifted into sleep knowing that all of these girls were now my responsibility and it was my job to keep as many of them alive as i can.
