A friendship with Shawn Mendes

Chapter 2

Victoria's POV:
The school day went by pretty fast. Or actually, I lied. It felt like I've been in there for ages. Sometimes I find it really annoying how the time almost slows down when you're at school. It's funny how when you're at home and close your eyes for a minute it always turns out to be like an hour, but when you're at school and you try to close your eyes for maybe 5 minutes and you later on open them it's only been a minute. But eventually the school was finally over.

"Are you going to Michaela's party tonight? People are saying it's suppose to be lit." Shawn asked and was leaning on my locker.

"Yeah, I suppose so but since when are you into parties?" I answered and was a bit surprised by him wanting to go to a party. I wasn't a big party person either but I went there only because of Noel always being invited to parties and he would bring me with him.

"Well, I haven't seen you the whole summer so I wanted to spend some time with you, and I assumed you were coming, so can I pick you up tonight?"

"Yeah sure! I will be ready at 6 a clock!"

"Okay, cool, I'll se you later!"

I walked towards the school parking to meet up with Noel and saw him already waiting in his car. I opened the car door and sat in the front seat right beside him. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and drove off. We didn't really have much to talk about the whole drive so we didn't really say much to each other. We eventually arrived at my house and before I got out of the car he asked me, "When should I pick you up tonight?"

"You're talking about Michaela's party? Shawn is actually going to pick me up. I haven't seen him in such long time so I wanted to spend some time with him."

"Oh okay, Mendes at a party, didn't see that coming. But fine, I'll meet you there then."

"See you there." I said and closed the door.

I walked inside of my house and the first thing I decided to do was to make my way to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, wrapped my towel around my body and then walked to my room.

All of sudden, a boy jumped out right in front of me and tried to scare me, which he by the way managed to do and almost caused me to get a heart attack.

"Are you crazy?? What are you even doing here right now?"

He chuckled and said "well, if you forgot I live next door to you and was kind of bored so I walked to your house."

"Oh right! Your the annoying kid next door!" I said sarcastically.

"Ha ha, funny" he said and rolled his eyes.

"Yeah I know, but I need to change so you have to turn around."

I grabbed my black ripped jeans and a white crop top with some adidas shoes. I decided I would wear this as well for the party. I dint feel the need of dressing up because I knew everybody else would go with pretty casual clothes. Instead I decided to do some loose curls later on my hair and put on some make up.

"You can turn around now Shawn."

I then started to put on some make up. I took my concealer and covered my dark circles, put on some bronzer and eyeliner and finished with mascara.

"Why does girls put that stuff on their face?" He asked a bit confused with his head tilted to the side.

"Actually we only do it for ourselves when we want to look good and feel more confident about ourselves. It also corrects things we cannot always correct on our own."

"But you always look good."

I looked backwards where he was sitting on my bed and looked kind of surprised because I didn't really agree with what he was saying.

"What? I'm only telling you the truth." He said and smiled at me.

"Thanks Shawn." I said and smiled back at him.
