"Where's my daughter??!!" Ms.Hart frantically looked around the hospital. She had just gotten a call, from the emergency room that her daughter had been in an accident. She had been in New Jersey and when she heard that her daughter was in a hospital near Edison, NJ it didn't take her long to get there."Ma'am, what is her name?" The ER receptionist asked. "Maya, Maya Hart." Katy was almost in tears, she had no idea what had happened. "Ah yes, Maya Hart was admitted 25 minutes ago along with Lucas Friar, after a car collision, 30 minutes ago right outside of Edison." The receptionist looked up from her computer at an extremely confused Katy Hart. She had no idea who Lucas Friar was and why her daughter was with him. "Can I see her, where is she?" Katy asked her. "She's still with the doctor ma'am, She will be allowed visitors in about five minutes." the receptionist gestured to a sitting room. "What are her injuries? Are they critical?" Katy had many questions for the woman. "Ma'am I'm afraid I don't have that information, but let me go see if I can get a doctor to talk to you." the woman got up and entered another room.

After a minute or two, a woman followed by the receptionist walked out of the other room. "Ms.Hart?" Katy stood up immediately and walked fast over to them. "Is she okay??!!" Katy was extremely worried and had many questions. "Yes, Ms.Hart she is okay, the car hit the back of their truck. It hit from the drivers side at an intersection on a normal street. Maya had no broken anything, a few bruises and cuts, which only one needed stitches. But Ms.Hart do you know the boys parents?" Ms.Hart really did not want to admit she didn't know the boy her daughter was with but, she didn't. "No, I work long days and nights, my daughter and I don't really talk as much as I wish we did. I don't know the boy or his parents." Katy admitted. "Oh, well your daughter is out of the surgery room from getting the stitches. You can see her now if you would just follow me." The doctor led Katy through the hallways and into one of the recovery rooms. Maya was laying in one of the beds, Katy was relieved to see she wasn't hooked up to any fluids, she just had a heart rate thing on her pointed finger. This was a good sign nothing was critical.

"Oh my goodness Maya that looks horrible!" Katy said when her Maya showed her the cut on her shoulder. Maya had a few more scrapes and bruises, luckily none on her face. "Maya, you need to explain to me who this boy is. I know the accident wasn't his fault. I am not mad I just want to know how you know him." Katy asked. "Mom, he's Alex's brother. We are kinda going out and we were gonna go to the fair in Edison." Maya had a thought and it showed on her face after she said that. "When can I see him mom??!" Maya realized she didn't know if he was okay, she had been unconscious when she was brought to the hospital. "Well Maya, whenever they let you go but, I'm going to see him right now." Katy got up before Maya could stop her. Katy asked the nurse outside where he was, she told her he was in the room next door. "Excuse me, are you Lucas?" Katy walked into a recovery room with a handsome young dirty blonde boy in the bed. "Yes ma'am and you must be Maya's mother." They boy opened his eyes and smiled at her.

They talked for a while and he told her how much he cared about her daughter. He told her he had to cuts with stitches, one on his stomach and one on his thigh. He also mentioned that he was able to speak to his parents. His parents are wealthy company owners who like to put their money in many charities. "My parents feel bad that your daughter got hurt and they want to pay all her medical bills. They already worked it out with your insurance and ours. "Wow, Lucas I don't know what to say... thank you!" Ms.Hart got up and smiled at him. "Oh Ms.Hart there you are, I was just telling your daughter that she is free to leave. And since all your medical bills have been taken care of, there's no papers!" The doctor helped Maya get up and told her that she could leave the hospital gown on the bed. The doctor closed the door so Maya could change back into her clothes. She winced every time she moved her arm. "Lucas!!" Maya ran into his room and was about to jump on him but, stopped because she knew he was hurt. He told her about his injuries as she sat on the edge of his bed. Ms.Hart smiled to herself and she watched the way he looked at Maya, it was something she only saw in few people. "Oh pardon me Ms.Hart, Mr.Friar good news you can leave now. Your parents have allowed Ms.Hart to take you home and they have already paid for your car repairs." The doctor nodded at Ms.Hart when he left. "I'll leave you to change, Maya you coming?" Ms.Hart looked at her daughter. "No mom I'll help him change since it probably hurts him to move." Katy nodded and walked out.

"Maya I have to go finish my shift and work, but you both have your meds and ice if you need it? And Lucas remember you can't eat for another 30 minutes. So if you need to you can at 5:15." She grabbed her keys and waved to them. "Maya, I'm so so–" he started."No Lucas I'm not gonna let you apologize, it's not your fault." She cut him off. She sat down on the couch and put her face in hers hands. "Hey, Maya.." Lucas walked over flinched as he sat down next to her and almost put her arm around her shoulder but remembered it was hurt. Instead he put his hand on her leg and gently rubbed her thigh, trying to soothe her. "I'm fine, I just–" she looked up into his green hazel eyes almost lost her train of thought. "I just know that you got more hurt than I did and it pains me to know your hurt Lucas." she stared down at his hands intertwined with hers. "Maya..." he said softly as he took her chin with his fingers and made her look at him. "I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," he said. His voice secretly made her go crazy, it was so soft and raspy, it was her favorite sound. "Hey, I know it's early but we should rest." He winced as her stood up, the cut on his leg was aching. She was obviously sleepy and a little drugged from pain killers and antibiotics. He led her to her room and sat her down on the bed. She was almost falling asleep now as he grabbed her some long pajama pants and a soft t-shirt. He helped her change and lied her down in the bed. He took off his clothes and she secretly watched and smiled to herself. He climbed into bed with her and they both slowly fell asleep with their hands intertwined.
