Failing Undercover

Sean?

I turned back to return to my boat after I got the message because most likely the kidnapper was taking her off of the island in an attempt to escape. I thought I was pretty smart for thinking of that, well, I guess it was the obvious choice to make, but give me a brake. On my way back Sean wasn't on the road anymore, so I figured that he got the same idea (whelp, there goes being smart) and was on his way back to his boat too. I realized that his badge was on the side of the road, so I stopped to pick it up. This was actually pretty usual considering that the only place we had to put it in was our pant's pockets. I reached for the radio to let Sean know.

"*static*...Jaden...*static*...out of here...*static*...repeat get...*static*...NOW!!!!" the radio screeched.

That was Sean's voice. Where was he? What was he doing? Why should I leave? Do I stay to find out why? I decided that I should stay, even though it meant that I could get killed. That was just an occupational hazard. I picked up the radio and tried reaching Sean.

"SEAN!!??? SEAN!!??? WHERE ARE YOU!!??? SEAN!!???" I yelled almost to the point of tears. He was the only one that had ever actually cared enough to show me around, help me set up, and hell, he's the reason I'm not fired yet. Nothing happened though, well not for a while anyway. After that, I completely forgot about the little girl case, and called Barnes.

"And what the hell do you think your doing??!!" He yelled.

"It's Sean, he called me and told me to get off the Island." I tried explaining (not that he ever listened)

"I don't give a shit, just do your job and save the little girl!!!," Barnes replied, still yelling.

"I don't care what you say, send another officer on the little girl case, I'm staying and looking for Sean, you asshole," I explained feeling a little pride in myself for standing up to him.

"Well you know what, you can spend all the time you want looking for Sean because your FIRED!!!!!!!!!" he finally stated.

"WELL IT TOOK LONG ENOUGH!!!!!!" I screamed, not realizing what had just happened.
