It's Just the Beginning Girls....

After school,is the worse,since chores are lined up for us.Torture class is just about to begin.Me and Kayla met up at the school front gate."Hey Kayla."

"Hey,sis.Let's get home,before,you-know-what happens."

"Yea,we better.Ugh,but someting else is going to happen before chores,"i said in disgust.

"And what's that?" she ask,puzzled.

"Our other sister is coming back from her aunt's house today."

"Oh no,the other one!?"said Kayla,horrified,"And she missed the first day of school too!?"

"Urh,Kayla,i don't think that's the case for now.Besides,what does she care if she didn't come to her first day?"

"True."

We reached our house's front door.And inserted the key into the keyhole."We're back,home,"i said smiling."KAYLA!!! ROSETTE!!" shouted the she beast from the intercom,my smile vanished.We dropped our bags on the floor and pressed the button to connect the intercom to our step-mother's room."Coming Sheila!"we said together glumly and sighed deeply.

"No,don't come up here,just make me lunch and make the house sparkle!! My sweet honey bunny is coming home!!" her voice sounded again in the intercom.

"Shall we go now?" Kayla looks at me.

"We probably should,"i say heading towards the kitchen.

"KAYLA!! ROSETTE!!" her voice boomed in the kitchen intercom.

What now? I glance at Kayla,she was thinking the same thing."Press the button,"i tell her."Must i?"she says.

I rolled my eyes."Ugh,hurry up or she'll give us more chores as punishment!"

She pressed the button."Yes,Sheila?"

"Did you idiots even listen to me?"

"Urh,yes?"said Kayla.

"I want an answer to my request,"says Sheila.

"If we said no,then why are we in the kitchen doing as you say?" i butt in.

The intercom went off."Nice move,,Amber!"

"Heh,yea right.She's just going to give me more chores for talking back,nothing special."

After serving the 'queen',me and Kayla started scrubbing the floor,with a piece of "cloth",which to my eyes was actually rags.You didn't think the queen would be so kind as to ask us to clean the floor with a mop,did you?While she sat on a nice comfortable chair,watching us,we,are currently working hard core.

"Harder!Scrub harder you weakling! What are your hands made of? Paper?"she barked.

Sigh.I bit back my anger and scrubbed harder.And then,someone came in stepping on the just cleaned floor with dirty shoes."Oops! Missed a spot.I guess you're just going to have to scrub it again,"said the so-familiar voice.It's Shayne,Sheila's daughter,aka our step-sister who,also just loves to order us around.I looked up,"hello,Shayne,welcome back!"i said between gritted teeth.

"What's with the face? You should be happy i'm back!"yea,to give us more trouble,yippee!

"Oh,we're verryyy happy,indeed.She's just too happy for words,"said Kayla smiling widely,note the sarcasm.

"Ugh,whateve,"she said in disgust."Mommy!! I'm back!!"

Sheila,who was busy listening to music in her Ipod to not notice her daughter's arrival,turned her gaze to her."Shayne!! My honey bunny!!"they hugged each other.Me and Kayla looked away and continued scrubbbing the floor.She mouthed the words,"they're so icky!" 

My phone in my pocket vibrated,i put it in vibrate mode as to not disturb her majesty's peace.It was ringing,wonder who it is.I didn't answer.Kayla looked at me."What are you doing?"she hissed.

"Are you angry at me for not answering or because the phone rang?"i said,confused.

"I'm angry because you didn't answer!! Idiot!! Why'd you do that?"

"Her majesty will take away my phone if i neglect my 'duties'."

Her punishment are bad enough.Though,she only does these things when dad's not around,in front of him,she puts up an act.Give her an Oscar for the best actress in step-mother world."KAYLA!! ROSETTE!!! LUNCH,NOW!!!!"shouted the queen,snapping me from reality.Oh boy,my life in school is different than my life at home.

"Coming Sheila!!"we said together.After serving them lunch,we had to go back to scrubbing the floors and the queen and her little majesty returned to their original posts.

"Let's just hope a miracle would happen,"said Kayla to me.

"Uh-huh,that's right.Hey,when's dad coming home?"i say,scrubbing the floor a little slower now.

"Hey!Faster!"screamed the little majesty.

Me and Kayla scrubbed faster."I'm tired!"she moan."And Amber,dad's coming home in a few hours,"she pant.We hush up after being glared at by Shayne.She obviously doesn't like us or dad,she's just like her mother,a clever actress.What a pair.

My hands were getting tired,every muscle in my arms were aching.

"Sheila,can we please take a break?!"i ask,desperately.

"Humph,fine! Ten minutes! Go!"

We scurried off gladly,of course not showing it."Whew! Nice shot,Am!"said Kayla.

I grin."Hey,i'm gonna go check my missed calls so uh,can you do the dishes we left this morning before Sheila and Shayne gets angry and blow up? You're a good girl,right?Straight A student and good looks."

She rolled her eyes and sighed."Fine,sheesh.The chores aren't that bad but this house is huge and it tires me easily!"

"And me."

"Right,and you."

Later that night,dad came home way past our bedtime but me and Kayla were up anyways.Who cares about our steps' rules! Me and Kayla peeked out from our door."Hey Am,who called you just now? I'm asking you now because i keep on forgetting to ask you."

"I don't know,it was an unknown number.Now shush up! Do you want them to hear us?"i snapped.

"What are you so grumpy for?Of course i don't!"she snapped back.

The floor creaked,we backed away into the dark and listened for any sounds.We saw two pairs of shoes,walking up the stairs,passing our room.The two pairs stopped just passed our room.We heard whispering,i strained to listen."Quit pushing!"i hissed to Kayla.

"The house really clean,you did a good job,Sheila,"it was a man's voice,probably dad.

"Hmm,i had my angels to help me.I really like them."<< Haha,yea right.

Dad chuckled."Are they asleep?"

"Yeap,fast asleep.Let's go to sleep to,i'm sleepy."

"Okay."

The whispering stopped and everything in the house was silent except for the sound of our air-conditioner.We sanked back,sleepy and with that we actually fell asleep on the cold floor.
