Yeah I live on a farm and yeah maybe I don't have the best house or family but what ever. I've been used to this for ever and I am not planning to change it. My younger sister that's 15 is all bubbly and smiles all round. She's family, I know but sometimes she just kills me. How could she be so happy so much. Her long straight blonde hair. Her obsession with reading 3 books a day. Her best friend, Jake, now his the person that's at the top of my 'people I hate most' list. He has messy short hazel brown hair, a normal height and normal looks. I see him more then I want to. Rose always invites him over. Apparently he has a pretty messed up life. Family is all violence and hatred to each other. This is basically his second home. He is quiet. And weird in my opinion. He has a pet ferret called Leo.
The loud meows of my cat wake me up early as sun breaks through and lights the world yet another day. I sigh "Another day in a world of nothing.". I get up and walk over to my mirror. The reflection staring back at me frowns. My strong angled eyebrows and dark blue eyes smudged with mascara and eyeliner. I can never be bother taking it off before I go to sleep. I'm abit taller then the average girl but I like it. My silky long fallow coloured hair, dead straight as always. I brush my teeth and put my hair into a high ponytail. I dress myself in some dirty jeans that has a massive hole in the thigh and a red soft farmers top. I put on my dark emerald gumboots and walk out as quietly as I can and go outside. Once I am I start feeding the chickens and cows. The horses are far from the house near the river bank so I don't bother going there. It's going to be a warm day. I go back into the house and get breakfast. My family run a business where we produce milk from the cows and eggs from the chickens. Every saturday we go to the market and set up our stall. I'm always in charger and my sister and Jake usually help out. Theirs always a cracked or fallen egg though.
The smell of the burnt toast awakens me from my thoughts and I reach to grab it before I burn down the house. I get a glass of orange juice and sit down at the table. Not long after my sister comes in.
"God Lisa, I don't know how you wake up so early and get time to do chores." Rose moans while she walks about getting food.
"That's not my problem, just don't make me late for school again."
"Jake is coming over after school today and spending the weekend here. I look at her in anger.
"What?!" I squeeze the fork tighter. "Don't you ever ask me for permission? Maybe I'm busy or sick or want some privacy." I start raising my voice.
"You're acting as if he has never came over before. Or the opposite, like he lives here,"
"HE DOES LIVE HERE! Just sleeps somewhere else." I yell. I stand up and clean my dish and storm down the hall into my room. I shut the door loudly enough to shake the house and fall onto my bed. As I look up at the ceiling, I get more and more anxious so I grab my notebook and start writing out what I'm feeling.
Jake! You are so annoying! You're the reason our parents divorced. If you hadn't of completely burned down the house, none of this would have happened. GOD I MISS MY MUM SO BAD AND SHE WILL NEVER COME BACK BECAUSE OF YOU....
I shut the book and sit up. Under the covers, my cat starts playing with my feet. Clawing and biting gently. I laugh a little and come under the covers as well. My cat stares up at me with wide eyes. I look back and suddenly a tear falls onto my hand. "It's ok kitty. I'll be fine. We can sleep outside tonight. Just like camping." She purrs and I get off the bed. I quickly pack my bag for school and go to the front door. I start slamming the door to remind Rose that it's time to go. She clumsly walks out with her bag and some books in her hand. Papers falling out and all crumbeled. I roll my eyes and go outside. We walk down the long path in silence. Only the rocks crunch beneath out feet sound through the humid air. The bus arrives and I enter first. There in the middle sits my friend Jenna. She smiles at me, paused in her sketch. I sit down in the seat next to her and start colouring the trees with her pastel colours.
