Chapter 9

Dicks POV

I decided to take a break from looking for Babs brother and  instead went to the store and bought some flowers to surprise her when I get to her apartment. After all that has happened I just want to see a real smile on her face, it feels like forever since I heard her laugh or her eyes light up at the sight of what she loves. I ring the door bell as I fix my tie and hide the flowers behind my back with one hand right when she opened the door.

"Hey Babs" I smile as I bend down and hug her before presenting her with the flowers.

"Oh Dick, you didn't have to" She smiles a fake smile as I still see the sadness cloud her eyes as she sniffs the flowers I gave her. "They're beautiful"

"Not as beautiful as what I'm seeing right now" and with that she blushes the same color as the roses I got her. I kiss Babs softly on the cheek as I walk into her kitchen and grab myself a glass of water.

"Yes you may enter, yes you can have a glass of water, Dick" Barbara chuckles as she roles towards me and steals my glass to take a sip and gives it back to me.

"Aw now it has girl cuties, how can I ever drink out of this glass now?" I chuckle as I finally hear a real soft laugh escape Babs lips for the first time in weeks.  

"Dork" I hear her mutter as I fake hurt. I laugh as I kiss her softly on the lips immediately shushing her up from throwing anymore playful insults at me.  

Barbara POV

Kisses him again, like this, made me forget all the negative that's in my life right now. After a while of us just practically making out my living room, Dick carried me out of my wheel chair and sat me down on his lap on the couch.

"Never knew you were so strong" I joke to him poking his strong chest tracing all of his muscles.

"Well, you might not know this. But secretly I put on a skin tight suit and get called a ballerina when I'm fighting crime at night." We both chuckle at that as I just lazily lay my head on his strong chest as we stare at the T.V. listening to Vicky Vale being annoying as always talking about the weather and such that's been happening in Gotham.

Out of habit I tried to get up and walk to the bathroom since I had to go. I immediately fell but luckily Dick was there and helped me before I face planted onto the wood floor.

"Now, now if you wanted off and away so badly all you had to do was ask." He chuckles at that even though his eyes showed worry.

"Yah, I know Dick. I just" for a second I wanted to think of a better word them forgot. "Forgot" I drift off unsure of myself again as I remember everything that's happened to me in the past few months.

He didn't say anything, which I understand, because what CAN you say to someone who won't be able to batgirl anymore let alone walk. Instead he just hugged me and rested his head on my shoulder as I just laid there being thankful that I wasn't alone again. 

Last time I was alone and I forgot I couldn't walk, I almost jumped off my balcony. I live on the 40th floor.

"Hey, how about this. You go to bed because I'm gonna take you somewhere, where you will feel like your flying and forget about your situation your stuck with, ok?" I just nod in agreement as Dick gently carries me to my room and sets me on the bed handing me a baggy t-shirt and some gym shorts. 

As I fall asleep I couldn't help but wonder. What on earth Dick has planned for tomorrow that could possibly take my mind off of my situation.

I'm gonna edit the story a bit, i reread everything and I noticed it seems confusing, how nightwing found James jr. when they found babs, but then later i wrote how they didn't know he was involved so I will change it to where, they found Babs all alone and no trace of anyone there.
