Chapter 8

Jeremy POV

They think they could catch me, I wasn't raised by a dumb detective and it helped how he brought me to his work, helped me learn what not to do to avoid being seen. I walk into the abandoned warehouse, I know cliche much. But hey its easy and it's close to my sister so I can easily get to her when the time is right.

"How is it coming along?" I causally ask Edward as he puts the finishing touch on my spy cam that I will sneak into Barb's apartment to put it so I know where she is at all times.

"It will be finished in a few minutes once I test it out. Oh and I also inserted a special tool that will alert you when she is home alone and non of the bats or cops are near by" I smile at the thought of being just one step closer to my goal, just One. Step. Closer.

Barbara POV

I was laying in bed watching a movie as I heard someone knock on my door. I was tempted to just stay in my room where I felt safe or go to the door and answer it. But when the mystery person knocked again, I sat up frowning as I moved to my wheel chair and I roll to the door, and who was at the door made me smile wide.

"Dad!" I happily hug him as he steps instead and returns my hug.

"I just wanted to stop by and make sure my baby girl is okay" he smiles down at me as he hands me some coffee and a donut. I look down at my legs after he said that and I just shrug my shoulders.

"I'm holding throw, it will take some time to heal and everything" my dad just gives me a sad look as he sets his stuff on the table and we start munching on our donuts as we just talked out stuff that weren't so emotional. 

"How are you and Mr. Grayson, has he proposed yet?" He chuckles the last part and I blush immediately.

"noooo, he didn't not yet, but we are doing good." I smile at the thought of him proposing and us marrying and living happily ever after.

"So yesterday we were in the process of training ten new recruits and at one point one of them, George I think was his name. He slipped in the mud and he fell face first!" My dad ends up cracking up at the end and I join in with him a the end.

"Hey pop, remember you were that George also at one point" I chuckle quietly as I finish my coffee.

"Hey that doesn't mean I can't have a laugh about it." He does have a point. "Well I hate to cut this short Barb but I have to get back to work, my lunch break is over." He walks over to my side and leans down and hugs me.

"Bye daddy, I love u" He replies with a smile and a I love u too as he walks out the door. Once he closed the door I let my smile fall as I stared back down at my useless legs that what seems like just yesterday I used them for running on top of building as Batgirl, but she's dead now. Half of me is dead now, and I'm having trouble coping with that.

Should I just publish it like this? Nah I love u guys too much. I shall give you more to read. Am  I the only one, when I'm writing It  freak out like a maniac when I hit 666 words and 420 and 69. :} Just me? k... now back to the story.

Bruce POV

I haven't slept for what seems like days, all I have been doing is drinking coffee and looking at all radars and cameras for even a small glimpse or sign or James Jr. I swore to Barbara that I will find him and bring him to justice and I will not back down from that promise. I look away from the computer as I see Tim walking down the stairs and coming towards me.

"Mind if I take over? You need some sleep and a break from the computer." Without even waiting for my reply he sits next to me and starts typing away on the computer. I just sigh as I get up and walk upstairs toward my bedroom that I haven't even stepped in for days ever since we found Barbara. Right before I walk into my room out of the corner of my eye I see Alfred looking at me with a small smile on his face as he bid me goodnight, well actually good morning seeing its 3 am.
