"Have you come to a decision yet princess?" he asked chucking slyly.

Kenia considered the plan she had made. She looked around sadly, then nodded. It was the best decision. Sneeringly she turned to him,"Yes, I agree to your conditions."

"Oh princess why the long face, you are a bride-to-be, smile a little," he said this time with a snicker.

His name, Slade Anderson, Chief of the First Guard of Appletopia and second in command to the King. A tall and handsome man bursting with charisma. All women would easily throw themselves at his feet, naive to his condescending, cynical aloofness. All but princess Kenia, who knew all to well of him. She knew that the word 'benevolence' was one not found in his dictionary. For years, bombarded by his persistent wooing, to finally be snared in his trap. Resistance was futile.

With her growing stomach, and no father-to-be she had no choice but to take his offer. She saves face and he, well he got a blushing bride- without the blushing part! She planned to marry him then find some way to get out of it. With his callousness a reason would not be hard to find. All she had to do was wait.

For the two weeks before the wedding Slade spent every waking moment at her side. He helped her prepare for the baby and organize the wedding ceremony/ after party. He involved her every step of the way. He didn't dictate or criticize her in anyway, like she thought he would. Slade was gentle, kind and understanding, everything she thought he wasn't. Kenia slowly found herself falling for him. Slowly falling for his enticing allure. His eyes, once thought of as crimson and hateful were now warm and loving. Her elaborate plans to get away from him was falling to pieces and he knew it. Her brain was a fiasco and she slowly came to love it.
