Into That Dark Night

I was a shadow in the night,
As sly as a Fox I went,
Running past trees,
Past bushes,
Into this dark night.

So dark it was,
So quite it was,
All that was to be heard was a faint whisper of a roar,
Past the wall of protection that surrounds thee,
On the road is where the nose is free.

I move through this eerie night,
I feel not safe nor in danger at this time,
For that is night,
Unknown is this night.

Protected by this wall I am,
Surrounded by rows and rows of houses,
I am,
Surrounded by many monsters in this dark night,
Surrounded by their shadows that loom over me,
Casting an era,
Casting a scene,
Into this eerie night.

I hide from a skinny monster that runs past,
It's roar loud and clear,
Blaring into my open ears,
In this dark night.

Once what little danger passes,
I look up to see this dark eerie sky,
Hoping to find the man in the moon,
A rabbit,
Or a pair of giving hands,
But all I see is darkness,
Clubs,
Dark clouds,
In this dark night.

This darkness of light,
This eerie night,
Consumes this city,
My city,
Our city,
Into this dark,
Dark,
Night.
