The only sound heard in the room is the tapping of a pencil on her slender fingers. The creaking of her cabin door did not put a halt to the tapping however she turned towards the door diverting her gaze from the wonderful view of the city below her in night's glory. One look at the person she knew that it would be a long time before she could get back to her work.

"You need to work on this project", said the person. Khyathi gave a small smile to her friend and partner. Snigda sighed and said "We both knew the output when we handed over this project to Ekta. The only reason she got this project is because of your decision to let her handle it. Anyways I know you have the designs ready, so this weekend you are going to present them along with her designs."

"I have not made any designs", said Khyathi with eyes glittering with mischief though her face appears innocent. " And I am the Queen of this state" , said Snigda. "You are though. Of Course not literally. But your fiance is royalty of his own. And after your wedding you would be a princess and then queen in your own right.", Said Khyathi. "Very true. However we are talking about your designs not my royalty. If I knew anything about you ,it is the fact that you give 120% in whatever you do. You were aware of this show three months back. Whereas Ekta 'got it in her bag' two months back. So I know you made the designs. I will be waiting for them on -" " Sunday", replied Khyathi by interrupting her friends procession of words. " You do know that you are called 'medusa' by many. And asking people to come on Sunday will only fetch you new titles like Satan's mistress, Red devil etc etc." Said Snigda.

"That information is ancient. Tell me something new. Are you also trying to coin a new title for me?",smirked Khyathi while raising her left eyebrow. This proves to Snigda that her friend is not bothered by such obnoxious names and cheap office politics. Khyathi believes in healthy competition and when she became aware of her title as Medusa for the first time she told Snigda that she is happy that her colleagues have ample creativity and it is just a matter of channelling it in correct direction. If anyone else had been in the receiving end of that title they would have brought the roof down but not her dear friend. She wears it as a crown.

"Oh! You are wearing them for your dinner with ur Prince Charming?",said Khyathi. "These are the shoes which started our love story. He is not Prince charming instead he calls himself my knight in the grey Armani." ,replies Snigda with a wink.

Khyathi still remembers how that pair of shoes changed both of their lives. Designing shoes had been a hobby for khyathi since childhood. She made countless designs however never gave a form to any of those designs. As for Snigda she fell in love with each of the designs of her friend and made it her mission to turn the designs into tangible beauties.

5 years back

A ramp walk for footwear organized by Mr&Mrs Inc for the novices made that true. The creator of the pair that won gets a chance meet one of the famous shoemakers of his time, Mr. Sen apart from the monetary price of 25 lakhs.

Mr. Sen, the founder of Mr&Mrs Inc wanted to encourage people who can bring life into footwear and guide them, in the honour of his late wife who was his model and inspiration.

He announced that anyone who is interested in the art of shoe making is eligible to participate in this competition and there are no rules except to get a model to wear the shoes and walk in them. Snigda approached Khyathi and suggested that they participate in that ramp show. She convinced her friend that she would be the model and sponsor for the material and equipment required for it. Khyathi knew how to give life to her desings and turn them into a gorgeous pair of shoes but she never had any requirement to make footwear. But for that show she decided to do it.

She designed a pair using Snigda as the model and inspiration for the theme. It was a pair of royal blue peeps with pointed heels, and the insides of the shoes were lined with a velvety cushion in order to avoid any form of inconvenience to the person wearing them. She designed them for her friend and added a personal touch to them. She adorned the shoes with a pair of brooches which they both shared between them as a mark of friendship for 10 years.

Snigda paired them with a simple dress. The creation was simple and beautiful blessing the maker with pride and the wearer with confidence and elegance. When the judge asked them as to explain the creation, Snigda answered that they give her confidence and the sacredness of those shoes for them was that they were made by a best friend for another best friend. Then Khyathi took over the conversation by saying that she wanted her creation to portray her friend- simple, elegant, beautiful, classy and confident when questioned about the theme and the reason for that theme.

There were many other great pairs displayed but nothing could dampen their mood. The friends were happy with their hard work and the smiles decorating their faces were the proofs for that. They did not win the competition however Mr.Sen approached them and asked if they would work for him during the after show party. They were surprised and delighted however replied him saying that they would start their own line. Snigda ever the business woman said that he could always join them as a third partner in order to lighten the tension created by the smooth rejection. The next second every head in the room turned towards them because of the boom of the laughter that erupted from Mr.Sen. It was very creepy to be the centre of attention of everyone present there. After quietening down Mr.Sen said "Of course, I would be delighted to be your partner on the condition that you both take 70 % together and I get 30% with no others involved. If it is yes, let's drink to it."

If they were surprised before they were flabbergasted then. In order to quench the dryness in her throat Khyathi took a glass of juice from the tray of a passing by waiter and turned to Snigda to talk to her about what they heard. However one look at her friend she knew what the decision was. With new excitement and a rapidly beating heart she tipped the glass to her friend and offered her a smile. Snigda turned to Mr.Sen and asked when they could sign the deed.

The party was in full swing. The dynamic duo as called my Mr.Sen still could not believe what happened few minutes before. As Snigda was walking towards desserts table she tripped on something and fell into someone's arms. He was Nikhil, her Knight in grey Armani. Thus started their fairy tale.

Now

" How is Mr.Sen doing?" , Asked Khyathi. " He is better and wants to attend the meeting for finalizing the designer", said Snigda. Both the friends went to the French Windows in Khyathi's cabin and stood there staring at the glowing lights thinking about what this Sunday holds for them.
