"We interrupt this program with a breaking news bulletin!" The WWAR news anchor interrupts the broadcast of Peeping Tom. "We broke the news earlier of the Haddonfield murders, now we have exclusive new developments on escaped mental patient Michael Myers whose killing spree has seemingly come to an end tonight after a long battle with Haddonfield police. We are going to go live on the scene at Haddonfield Memorial Hospital with WWAR's own Robert Mundy. Robert?"
"Hey, hey! Everyone chill out and look at this!" Mike Godfrey yells to his friends gathered in his living room.
Mike Godfrey and Ben Tramer had been out drinking and pulling pranks when they got wind of the tragedy that transpired hours earlier to their classmates Lynda Van der Klok, Annie Brackett, Bob Simms, and Laurie Strode. When Godfrey heard that Lynda, Annie, and Bob were killed he immediately drove to Paul Freedman's house. Paul Freedman was Annie's boyfriend and Godfrey wanted to tell his best friend the terrible news before he heard it through the grapevine. At first Paul thought it was another stupid prank from Godfrey and Tramer, after all "he just talked to Annie and she told him she was on her way to pick him up!" When he realized this was no Halloween prank he demanded Godfrey drive him to the scene of the murders right way.
When the group arrived at the street the murders took place, they had to abandon their car four blocks away because of all the police, paramedic, and news vehicles blocking the way. Paul rushed to a distraught Sheriff Brackett who was barely able to keep himself composed long enough to send them home with the terrible news about his daughter Annie and her friends.
After hearing the news of his love interest Laurie, Ben Tramer split from the group and made his way to Haddonfield Memorial to check in on her. When he got back to his house, Godfrey had called his neighbor Davon Graham to come over and help him comfort Paul. Since then him, Davon and Paul had been huddled around Godfrey's living room TV, hanging on every news report.
"Did they get the son of a bitch?" Paul asks from the recliner where he sits staring at a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels.
"Shhh!" Godfrey shushes him and turns up the volume.
The reporter with the burned suit comes on the screen, "That's right WWAR is first on the scene again as paramedics, fire, and police work together to clear the raging fire from inside of Haddonfield Memorial. As of right now there is no explanation for how the fire started but we do have confirmation of at least two survivors, Laurie Strode and Doctor Samuel Loomis. Strode was the sole survivor of an attack earlier in the evening that left three teenagers dead by the hands of escaped mental patient Michael Myers. Strode was an intended victim of Myers but she was miraculously and heroically rescued by Myers psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Loomis who shot Myers several times but was unable to apprehend him. Strode was then taken to this place." The picture changes to an exterior shot of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital as rescue crews clear away the wreckage. "Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Based upon initial police reports and earlier police scanner activity it is believed that Myers somehow tracked Strode here, and some sort of fight ensued. I did witness a life flight just touch down and take away an unknown person from the scene. I am trying to get confirmation on the status of Strode, if you just give me a second I'm going to try and get the chief's attention. Chief!" The reporter jogs over to Grady Tapper who is barking orders to one of his men.
"Chief, Robert Mundy WWAR, what can you tell the people of Haddonfield about the status of Laurie Strode? Was it Michael Myers who caused this destruction?"
Grady squints in the light of the camera, "Can't you people see we are trying to stifle an emergency here! I have a long night ahead of me. There's nothing to report." Grady moves to walk away but Mundy is right on his heels.
"Please Chief! Is strode alive? There was a life flight that touched down. Was it for Strode?" Mundy presses him.
Tapper turns around abruptly, "I have no comments at this time on the status of either Strode or Doc Loomis. There's nothing to report and we are trying to—"
"Loomis? Are you confirming that Dr. Samuel Loomis was at the scene of the hospital massacre?"
Tapper Grimaces, "No, I'm not!" Then he adds, "And I don't know anything about a massacre! Now please, get back behind the barricades or I'm going to have to cite you for disorderly conduct and obstructing justice!" The camera follows Grady as he storms off. Robert Mundy steps back into the frame.
"Well there you have it folks, there isn't much info to be told at this time. We are still working to find more details about what happened here at the hospital and how Strode and Myers are linked to it. Please stay with WWAR throughout the night as more details flood in."
The picture flips back to Peeping Tom.
"Woah." Is all Mike Godfrey can say.
"No mention of Myers? What gives?" Davon Graham asks. "I mean the dude goes on a killing spree, disappears, reappears, and they don't say anything about him?"
"It's weird. Maybe they killed him and they can't say it yet?" Godfrey replies.
"Or maybe they didn't." Davon says as he gazes at the TV.
"There's no way he could have escaped, I mean look," Godfrey motions at the screen, "The whole police force is at that hospital. It's not like he could have walked out of there."
"Well don't you think they should have at least mentioned something about Myers? What if he's still out there?" Davon argues.
"They haven't said anything yet because they haven't found him." Paul breaks his silence.
Davon and Godfrey turn to look at Paul and then shoot each other an uneasy gaze.
