When Skye woke up, the girl that was in the bed the night before was gone. There was a clock on the wall beside the door that said it was quarter to nine. As soon as Skye saw that, she jumped out of bed. That early already. She quickly grabbed jeans and a t-shirt and threw them on before running into the bathroom with her toothbrush and toothpaste. After washing her teeth, she quickly grabbed her brush and brushed out all the knots in her hair.
A knock on the door made Skye jump. For some reason she was fidgety. She quickly made up for her mistake by running over to the door and opening it. Mia was standing there waiting expectantly. For her age she seemed quite sophisticated. "Let's go" Mia said impatiently.
Grabbing Skye's arm, she started to drag her towards the stairs, but instead of climbing down them, she pressed a button for an elevator that Skye hadn't noticed before. Within a few seconds, they were down at the reception where they had taken the key. Mia continued to drag her towards the building Terry had brought them to. The same person that had been at the reception the night before was there, waiting for them. "Ms Mavis is waiting for you in her office" she said, motioning to a door a few metres away from the reception.
Mia nodded and walked over to the door. She knocked three times. "Come in" came a voice from the other side.
The door swung open with out anyone opening it which made Skye think that it was automatic. Mia walked in first with Skye following close behind. "Hello Mia, Skye" she said motioning for them to sit down. "I am Ms Mavis, Headmistress of this school. You will be staying here from Today through to the beginning of June. You have already missed two and a half months, which means the Christmas holidays will be here in three weeks" she began.
"First thing you should know, this is no normal school. It is not like the last school you went to" she continued.
Skye nodded. She had guessed that much.
"This is a school for people with... Special abilities" she added.
Skye looked at her confused. "Okay, it's no use trying to explain. Mia, show her your true form" she said.
Skye looked at Mia, waiting for what she meant. She wanted to say something, but knew it was rude to interrupt. Mia stood up from her chair. She held out her hands and closed her eyes. Her fingers started to stretch while her face moulded into a different shape. By the time the moulding had stopped, it was still Mia standing there, only she looked five years older. Skye gaped at her in awe.
Mia simply smiled at her before sitting back down. Her clothes had grown bigger along with her as well. "Well that's what I mean by special abilities. You have the power to do something like this. I was told that you have the power telekinesis. Five other people have this power. The four, and I" Ms Mavis explained.
From a bookshelf leaning against the wall, a book floated gently to the table and landed neatly in front of Skye. "All you need to know about controlling your power" she said. "This is your textbook for your class Controlling Mgaic. You have a lot of catching up to do. Read chapter one to four. That's everything they've done up to now in that class".
Six more books came from the bookshelf to land on top of the book in front of Skye. "Mia will go through everything with you tonight".
Skye nodded, still gaping. "So you are okay with this?" Mia asked.
Skye just nodded. "You took that in better than most people do" Mia said laughing.
"Okay, you can have breakfast here, then start your tour around campus, before going to the canteen for lunch. Then you will continue your tour. Then go back to Skye's dorm and show her all about the books" just as she said that, the receptionist came through the door with two trays full of food.
