I couldn't stop saying it; I'm in love with Lexi  Jones. The only problem was that she was leaving for the first two weeks of summer, and I wanted to be with her every second.
"I knew it!" Timothy and Mel said at the same time. I rolled my eyes.
"But what do I do while she's gone? I can't tell her yet."
"You're right.... Well, you're In luck! My grandparents are letting me have their cabin for the summer whenever I want because I came out to them" Melanie is actually trans, but she recently finished going through her transition and is probably one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen.
"You're so lucky that you have support" I said.
"Well, it wasn't easy Ro. But still, I guess I am lucky"
Later that night I packed my bag, and left early in the morning. The ride there was a lot of fun, and when we got there I was surprised at house beautiful it was. The cabin was enclosed, surrounded by a beautiful forest and a clear lake. And the cabin wasn't even a cabin, it was the size of a mansion. We went inside and it had a bunch of futuristic-technology stuff. The fridge had a touch screen, and the tv was a giant flatscreen 3-d tv. The whole place was modern and amazing.
"Holy shit, Melanie. What do your grandparents do for a living to afford a house from the future?!" Timothy asked.
"My grandma is really huge on photography and painting, and my grandpa owns a company that makes all this futuristic stuff."
"Remind me to have your grandparents adopt me one day" I say, smirking. The rest of the night was a blast; we watched movies, ate the hell out of the kitchen, got a little tipsy, played hide and seek because c'mon, a giant ass house is the best place. We went swimming pretty much everyday, and they really helped me keep my mind off of Lexi.
                      ********************
On the last day, we had brunch with Melanie's grandparents.
"Thank you for letting us use your cabin, grandma."
"Oh don't worry about it, sweetheart! You guys can go there any day you'd like"
Melanie's grandparents were really cool. They've been together since high school, and are probably the most supportive, nicest people I've ever meant.
"And Rose! We've heard a lot about you! You
Know, if you ever need anything, come to ol' grandma and grandpa, okay?"
"Grandma! Grandpa!" We all started giggling.
"Well, thank you. That's so nice of you guys." We finished up and made our way back home. Of course, no one said anything when I got home because they don't care where I am. For all they know, I could've been dead and probably wouldn't care, but god forbid I say I'm gay and my family will throw a fit. But that didn't matter, because Lexi got home, and I came racing to her door. I rang the doorbell, and the moment I saw her everything flew back at me. I jumped into her, and we were both squealing because of how happy we were to see each other. We went into her room and caught up.
"Wow! Melanie's grandparents are so cool!"
I giggled and nodded.
"yeah they're the best. They even said that they're officially my second set of grandparents. But hey brought about me, it sounds like you and your friends had a lot of fun!"
"Heh, yeah we did. It was great to catch up with them." I was happy to hear everything, but I couldn't stop thinking about how I could tell her I like her. I was so nervous my stomach flipped over and over. My hands were shaking. I finally put it in words and went for it.
"Lexi, I need to tell you something."
"Yeah? What's going on?"
"Well... were pretty close and I couldn't ask for a better friend, but I...."
"Yeah?" I freaked out, and the stupidest thing came out of my mouth.
"Would you like to come over to my house tomorrow?" Please say no please say no please say no!
"Sure! I've actually been meaning to tell you I really wanted to see your house!" .... shit!
"Well it's not exactly the nicest hou-" she put a hand on my shoulder and took a deep breathe.
"I don't care what your house looks like, I will just be grateful you'll let me be there."
"Lexi..." we both hugged and I eventually had to leave.
"So I'll see you tomorrow" she winked.
I'm so screwed.
