The Forgotten Ones

Chapter 2:

(Present Day)

-Aya's P.O.V.-

"god dang it Hiro" I said as I picked up the broken glass off the floor. "I-I'm sorry Aya it was an accident" i just rolled my eyes. My name is Aya and i'm 16, Hiro is my twin, we both have blonde hair but different colored eyes. Our whole family has emerald green eyes but  my brother has crimson red eyes, and for some reason i was born with ice blue eyes. My family never knew why but we just accepted it "Hiro, how many times have i told you not to play in the kitchen" my mom said, walking into the room. "I-I'm sorry mom, i didn't mean to" she just smiled and shook her head "What am i going to do with you two" "Hey, i didn't do anything" i yelled. She laughed "Well, i actually have some news" me and Hiro looked at her "What is it" we both said in sync, that's kinda normal tho, she laughed "Well, you two, we are actually moving back to my home town" me and Hiro both looked at each other and said "WHAT" her smile didn't fade "We're moving back to my home town of Bannock, Montana" "Isn't that a ghost town tho" Hiro asked, excitement in his voice. My mother rolled her eyes "Oh Hiro, all those videos you watch, no, well, sort of, it's kinda run down but there are still people that live there" i could hear Hiro whisper an excited yes. "Wait, isn't that where those two kids went missing 16 years ago" "those were two of the sweetest kids i knew" i raised an eyebrow. "You knew them" i asked surprised, my mother nodded slowly "Aki and Kuro were the children of good friends of mine, Akira and Hayato Nakashima" me and Hiro sat at the kitchen table and motioned for mom to sit down and continue. She sat across from us "Well, Akira and Hayato were high school sweethearts, they'd been together since 9th grade, anyways after we all graduated we bought houses right next to each other so we wouldn't drift apart, about 4 years after we graduated Akira got pregnant with Kuro, the oldest. i was so happy for her, but her and Hayato weren't even married so Hayato proposed to her and they got married about 4 months into her pregnancy" my mom choked up a bit, trying to hold tears back. i reached over and grabbed her hand and smiled sweetly "Anyways, after she had Kuro, at the age of 22, she had Aki 3 years later. I was there with Akira through all of it, and that's when i met your father, and we got married soon after, but then we had to leave because he thought it would be best for us to have a bigger house for children. Of course i agreed and soon after we had left my home town to move here, i kinda lost touch with Akira and Hayato until they came to visit with Aki and Kuro" my mom smiled a little. "Those two were a handful, but very sweet kids, then they had to leave and we lost touch again until Akira called me one late night and woke me up" her smile faded away "I answered and she immediately started hysterically yelling and crying and asked if Aki and Kuro were with me, i said no and she immediately told me that they weren't at home i sadly told her that i couldn't do anything for her cause the car was in the shop and i was pregnant with you two, she sighed and hung up. I felt so bad for her, and to this day she still lives in that same house, hoping and praying that they're still alive and will come home safe" me and Hiro looked at each other then back at mom. She stood and put a phony smile on her face "Anyways, enough of story time, go to your rooms and pack we leave first thing in the morning" She leaned over the table and kissed both our heads "Get enough rest tonight my little angels" she walked upstairs to her room and me and Hiro did the same.
