Two days after the flower situation, the iris still hadn't wilted. Twilight was using her magic to hold it in front her while they were walking to the portal.

"Hey, are you getting tired from carrying that around?" Dipper asked her.

"It's technically levitating, but yeah, it is pretty tiring," Twilight responded.

Dipper took the flower from her and placed it behind her ear. Twilight blushed at the kind gesture. She moved closer to him, as she was still walking. They looked at each other deeply, which proved to be a bad idea. Both of them ran into a couple trees that were standing next to each other. This left them both unconscious. They both woke up next to a mysterious lake.

 "Where are we?" Twilight asked.

Dipper looked through the journal to see if it was in there. Unfortunately, it wasn't there. He frantically looked through the journal a few more times to find out where he was. He was so freaked out that he couldn't take his eyes off of the book. While Dipper was trying to find a solution for the mess he was in, Twilight took in her surroundings. The lake was incredibly peaceful, with gentle colors and the sweet sounds of a calm waterfall in the background. Right in front of the two was an assortment of red flowers in the shape of a heart. Twilight walked up to it and inspected it. Each of the flowers was a different type, but they were a part of the ground. It was one of the most beautiful things Twilight had ever seen.

"I'm going to walk around the area and see if I recognize anything," Dipper said, with that as his last idea.

"Okay, I might stay here for a while," Twilight informed him.

Dipper was surprised. He figured that she would've joined him. It's wasn't that he didn't know he was being irrational, but he couldn't help it. His options were to go look around, or sit with Twilight and enjoy a lovely location. It was a difficult decision, but he went to look around.

The forest was not as pretty as the lake was. Dipper was in a deep, dark forest that contained tons of creepy crawlies and that sort of thing. Worst of all, he was alone. At least, he thought he was. After about 10 minutes of Dipper wandering hopelessly around the woods, he turned a corner and ran straight into his sister. Dipper was glad to find a familiar face, but Mabel didn't have the same reaction. Weirdly enough, she looked disappointed to see him.

"Hey Dipper, what are you doing here? Wouldn't you rather be spending your time in front of a magical waterfall with the love of your life?" Mabel asked nervously.

"What are you talking- wait a minute. You put Twilight and me in front of the lake without any sort of direction?" Dipper asked angrily.

Mabel sighed sadly. "It's just that you two have only been flirting like dorks for the past couple days. When you two passed out, Wendy and I stumbled on some sort of romantic waterfall and figured it would get you guys out of your current state," she explained.

"Flirting?! I was just being nice to her! She's away from home, she needs someone to be nice to her! I can't believe this. First, Wendy forces me to give her that stupid flower, now this?! What is up with you two?" Dipper complained.

"First of all, Twilight doesn't seem to be having a terrible time. Second of all, we just want you two to be happy. And third of all, why did you even have that flower if you weren't going to give it to her?!" Mabel shot back.

"How do you even know that Twilight likes it there?" Dipper asked, annoyed.

"Wendy gives me updates once in a while," Mabel responded, folding her arms.

Wendy, almost magically, ran to them just as Mabel finished her answer.

"Twilight's about to fall asleep," Wendy said, before noticing Dipper. He  awkwardly waved his hand.

"What are you doing here, man? Go spend time with her!" the teenager instructed.

"How will I get there in time? Didn't you say she was getting ready to sleep?" Dipper asked anxiously.

"There's a path to the waterfall right there, now go!" Mabel told him.

With that, Dipper was off. He ran as hard as he could down that path. It only took a few minutes to get there, but it was still too late. Twilight lay quietly by the lake, in a perfect stake of slumber. Dipper was still gasping for air from the run he just had. He had lost his chance to spend time with a friend, or crush as he would sooner realize. With a sigh, he sat down beside Twilight. He looked her, and gave her a small kiss on the cheek.

"Good night, Twilight," Dipper said, only realizing that he had rhymed once he laid his head down.

Twilight smiled, wishing him a good night as well.

Author's Note:

BOY HOWDY WAS THAT A CHAPTER! I know it may seem short compared to normal book or fanfic chapters, but that was twice as long as the other chapters  I've written. I was considering not writing a chapter today, but I'm glad I did. Fun fact: this was the only chapter since Chapter 1 that I already had an idea for before I started writing. The rest was improvised. Also, as I am writing this down, all I can think about is Smoky Quartz. If you don't know who I'm talking about, then I'm guessing that you aren't familiar with the plethora of rock moms. Anyway, see you next chapter!
