My History With Danganronpa

(Let's just call this my 5 subscriber special for you all.)

This is gonna be a long chapter, mi amigos...

It all started when my friend (let's call her Chiaki) started to watch Danganronpa game footage. She has always been into gaming stuff. We actually bonded over Undertale when it first released.

Anyway, Chiaki and I have a thing where we make Google slides together and one day she makes a slide about how she ships Sayaka and Makoto.

I'd seen the anime cracks and vines to know their faces but I never knew the anime's name or that there was even a game. I asked Chiaki what the game/ anime was called and she said "Danganronpa: Happy Trigger Havoc". So I decided to look at it. Without looking at the actual game or anime.

I had decided to read all of the Wikipedia pages about the events in the first anime. So whenever Chiaki was questioning what would happen next in the game I'd know. Even though I read everything for the anime. (Don't question it) I teased her endlessly about how I knew all until she finished the game. After she finished the game, I decided to check Danganronpa out on YouTube.

Something you should know about me is that I get scared VERY easily. I will cry at the sound of a BALLOON popping. No joke. And I'm the super extroverted girl who's almost in high school.

And the first thing I just HAPPEN to watch is " The 5 Most F****ed up Moments In Danganronpa". And then, because that wasn't despairing enough, I watched all of the first and second game's executions.

All in a row.

No breaks to breathe.

And boy, oh boy, was I terrified after that! I couldn't fall asleep for a week and I got rid of my entire YouTube watching history so anything Danganronpa related wouldn't pop up again. Thankfully, nothing reappeared.

Eventually, two weeks or so later, I did that thing that I shouldn't do but always do and asked Chiaki about everything that goes down in the first game.

It didn't take long after her explanations for me to try Danganronpa again. Because of me freaking out before however, I rarely watched the trials. I still don't. I mostly watch the free time events to understand the characters and fan stuff like MEPs, AMVs, cracks, vines, and those cool animation things that Lenku Alli does.

It was around the time when I found the good cracks for the first game I discovered Super Danganronpa 2.

And I was hooked.

I loved the characters, I loved the more HD graphics, I loved the overwhelming amount of mini games because it shooed my mind away from the despair in the trials. I still never watch the endings of the trials but I am now able to watch at least the first 2/3s of any SD2 trial which I'm really proud about.

One character I absolutely loved right away is Ibuki Mioda. I remember Chiaki telling me one day, " You remind me of Ibuki." and in the next hour I said, "Ibuki's now my spririt animal."

After that, I went on a hike with my friends. I know that sounds unrelated but that happened after my birthday. Chiaki gave me a belated present and two cards (because she couldn't choose between the two to give me). I was so happy about the gifts I texted her as Ibuki saying I'd died and Yasuhiro was trying to revive me. After that, I couldn't stop impersonating her.

I can show you guys the texts I give Chiaki when I'm Ibuki. This is something I actually do and enjoy doing. (If you ever want to have proof that I do this just message me and request a character and I'll do my best to impersonate them or I'll upload screenshots from my chats.)

One time, I wanted to challenge myself so I played as Hiyoko, Komaeda, Ibuki, Souda, Gundham, Sonia and Chiaki (from the actual game) all at once. I called it "The Group Chat of DESPAIR".

Then I got hooked onto some ships. There were a lot I went through but I eventually got stuck on Ishimondo and Komahina. Which, I mean, c'mon, how can you not? The internet is full of Ishimondo and Komahina lovers.

Small sidestory!:

In mid July 2016 my friend (let's call her Celestia) created a Wattpad account and told me to look at her wonderful crud. And I did. It was Black Butler stuff though and I didn't really go for that anymore but it was her work and I loved it.

One night in late July 2016, curiosity killed me. I created a Wattpad account. I told her about it and she was my first subscriber. And the rest you can see on my profile.

(I wasn't supposed to talk about my Wattpad origins here but I'm not deleting it.)

So yeah. I told you this wouldn't fit in a 2000 character space, @majester12.
