New person

"Hello I'm new. Im Detective Quinn" the new girl says holding out her hand for me to shake. "Hello I'm Detective Beckett and also your partner." I shake her hand. Jax and Rick are now partners. Rick stopped shadowing me. :( "great I thought I would be surrounded by boys." "well ya kinda are except for me" I laughed. "You remind me of someone I grew up with" she says as she takes a seat. "really? you too!" I reply sitting in my chair next to hers. "your first name wouldn't happen to be Erica would it?" I ask. "oh my gosh! It really is you Kate!" she squeals. We both squeal and jump up hugging each other. "I thought you were gonna be a doctor?" I ask her after we sit down. "its not what I wanted." she says. "we have to have a girls day!" I say. "yeah!" She exclaims.

---2 weeks later---
"What do you mean Kate?" "I don't think this is working out Javy. We gave it another shot and it is clear that it isn't working" "why?" "it just isn't. I realized I never thought of you as a boyfriend. As gross as it may sound I think of you as a brother." "it only started when the new girl got here! Are you a lesbian Kate?!" he yells. a few people in the hall of my apartment building look to see what the commotion is about. I was filled with rage. "no! Never! I just don't feel anything more than siblings!" I shout back. "now good night detective Esposito!" I slam the door shut behind me. "uuugggh" I scream out in frustration. Rick gives me a concerning look, Jax is smirking and Erica she is laughing. "haha it's so very funny!" I yell. I grab a pop from the fridge and head to the living room where everyone is."soooo" Erica drags out. Jax and her start laughing. "I swear I'm going to kill both of you one day." I mutter. "aw babe you know you love me" Erica says. "ya boo! you love me too" Jax says. we laugh at his attempt. "Hey I just realize I jus rhymed!" he exclaims. we all laugh harder. I clutch my stomach and eventually stop laughing. I sit in between Rick and Jax on the couch. "let me in this" I say. they hesitantly give me the controlled for the x-box 360. "I wanna play!" Erica whines and snatches a controller from Jax while sitting in front of the couch between my legs. "Boys vs. Girls?" I ask. "hell yeah!" Rick yells. "It's on" Jax says. Our x-box 360 is designed so instead of four separated squares we have two different big flat screens connected to it so there are two per screen. Rick and I switch spots and Erica slides over to between my legs. "bring it on b***hes!" she yells and we start the game.

"Rematch!" The boys whine. "we rematches you 50 times! you are just gonna lose!" Erica and I say. The groan. I look at my phone and its 3 o'clock in the morning. "Well I'm hitting the hay with a pitch fork because it is 3 o'clock in the morning." I say. "this conversation got boring" Erica sings and we are off to sleep in my room. We are friends! nothing more! I'm interested in a guy but I think it is too late to do anything. I already messed up big time with him.
