1 Week Later
"Is that the last one?" I asked from the kitchen.
"Yep. I just need to take it downstairs..." Mica yelled from outside the stairway. It has been a week and Mica told me that were gonna move in his house he lived before. Well, with Mrs Penniman, Fortuné and Yasmine. Fortuné is ten years old while Yasmine is in high school sophomore.
(A/N: Since I don't really know Mikas siblings ages, I'm just gonna make them up.)
We still work at the same place, but didn't do much song writing. But I keep coming up with titles and lyrics, my love life taking over my favorite thing to do, singing and writing. And I think I needed a break for all of that. So far, I only have two songs written and Mica has like a bunch! He's so talented then me and I feel a little jealous, but I won't stop him.
Mica walked inside the house, almost tripping over from the box in front of his face, he can't even see. He hasn't
been asking for help, so to have to stop tripping over, I grabbed the box of his hands and smirked at him. Mica scratched the back of his neck and half smiled. I think he was embarrassed by the boxes almost making him be a more fool of himself.
I walk down the stairs into the basement, carefully walking and finally made it to his room. I set it on the floor and opened it, it's filled with my dolls and barbies. I first looked at the one Yasmine gave me long ago. I pulled the hair back and set it on the shelve on top of the bed.
After all of the packing, it checked if Mica was still there. But he wasn't in the living room, although I heard voices coming from the kitchen. I heard Micas but I heard a women's voice, but it we unfamiliar. I poked my head out of the kitchen door way, and Mica starred at me and then a girl with curly black hair and brown eyes stared at me. Who the hell is she?
"Um, Mica. Who's this?" I asked. I did not like the girl already, I can tell that her face expression was not a good sign.
"Emily, this is Karen. Karen, this is Emily, my friend." Mica introduced. The Karen? The backstabbing no good friend Karen? Why the hell is she here then?
"Hi, nice to meet you." She said, her hand out to shake mine. I slowly grabbed on to it and shook it, smiling back at her evil smile. Mica looked annoyed and widen his eyes at me, I glance back at Karen and then down at the floor. Then she turned her back like if I wasn't there and started to talk to Mica.
"So, Mica. I heard your doing the music business in college? How's it going for you?" She asked, in her fake nice tone, ugh I can't even stand her already. I left the kitchen and walked in the living room, where Yasmine was watching the tele and looked up at me. She stared at me with her lips pressed in and worried eyes. I give her the same expression to and sat down next to her, joining watching the tele.
"Whys she here?" I asked whispering.
"She wanted to see Mica again and apologize if what she did to him back in middle school. Now she misses him and wants to start all over." She groaned, rolling her eyes at the tele. I shook my head and stared at the kitchen door, wondering if there gonna come out soon. Too me, I think Mica doesn't want her around cause of the way he looks at her. Annoyed and hurtful. And I don't trust her either.
Two minutes later, Karen comes out with Mica and she hugs him. He hugs her back and said goodbye to her, making their way to the door. He opens it for her and then kissed her on the forehead, as she left and waved at him.
Mica walked back downstairs and my mouth was dangling open. I looked at Yasmine and here were hanging open too. Does that mean Mica is friends with Karen again? And he kissed her, kissed her on the forehead. Are they dating now? My life is ruined.
The whole day I spend watching the tele with Yasmine in silence. And in the afternoon, Fortuné came back from school and watched the tele by himself, while I go to the park across the street. It was already dark and the orange street light appeared covering the street.
I sit in a swing with my notebook and I thought about the lyrics to try a new song. But these words keep appearing in my head.
"Never look back, we said. How was I to know, I miss you so..." I sing quietly. I sighed and stared off at the ground. No one was at the park, but me. I looked up ahead where that tree I found those carvings. I picked up the stick and made my way to the tree.
I carved on the tree and it said, "Mica found me." Then I walked back to Micas home.
