"So remind me why we have to move again?" I sigh picking up a box of clothes. I don't really want to move, but leaving some people here won't be that bad.
"Because we have new jobs and we need to move for them. It's only about a thirty minute drive from here." My dad says picking up one of the last boxes walking behind me.
"To be honest, I really don't mind. It'll be nice to leave some of these people behind." I mumble under my breath.
"Josh, did you says something?" He asks putting the box into the truck that's filled with all of our belongings.
"Oh, um just excited for a new start!" I try to say as excited as possible. I never told my parents, but I've been made fun of for who I am. I came out as gay to a few 'friends' and next thing I know basically the whole school is aware. Luckily, it was never anything physical just words...that hurt...a lot. My parent don't even know I'm gay and I want to keep it that way. I don't know how they'll react. Maybe with a new place, there'll be a new Josh as well.

We pull up into the neighborhood with the truck with all of our belongings behind us. I look over to the house and the walls look slightly brighter for some reason. When I get out the car I can hear some kids squealing while they play and the sound of a basketball from someone's backyard. It seems like a nice neighborhood.
After checking out the house and choosing our rooms we begin to unpack. I start with my room figuring out what to put where and how much space I'll have. A few minutes in I hear a knock and the front door and my mom yelling at someone to answer it. I decide to go answer and when I open the door I see a woman there.
"Uh, hello." I say sounding slightly confused. I didn't think someone would be here this early.
"Hi, is this a bad time? I just wanted to come by and introduce myself to you." She says walking back a bit.
"Oh no, it's fine! I was just unpacking and figuring out how I'll set up my room." She seems nice. I hope the whole neighborhood is like this.
"Well then, welcome to the neighborhood. I'm Kelly Joseph. I live across the street from you. There's also my husband, my three sons, and my daughter." Hm, four children also. I wonder what they're like.
"Thanks for the welcome. I'm Josh. Josh Dun and I live here with my mom and dad along with my sisters, Ashley and Abigail, and my brother, Jordan." I say leaning back and forth a bit.
"If you don't mind, can I ask you how old you are?" She says sounding a bit uneasy about asking. I let out a soft laugh.
"I'm seventeen, why do you ask?"
"Oh, you're around one of my son's age. He's sixteen until December."
"Really? Well I'm sure we'll get along since it appears he's been raised by such a nice woman."
"Well, I'll be going now. You can continue unpacking."
I close the door and walk down the hall to my bedroom. While I'm walking back my mom's head peaks out from a doorway.
"Josh, who was that?" She asks stepping out into the hall.
"Oh that was Kelly Joseph. She lives across the street from us and has three sons and one daughter." I explain and see my mom smile.
"It's nice to see that the neighborhood is friendly here." And with that she's walking back to start unpacking. I guess I should start again as well.
*****
This chapter was kind of short. I guess I just wanted a little introduction to this book. Also I'm starting another fanfic because my Phan is almost over. Don't have a cover yet but planning on making one soon.
Thanks~
