Chapter 7 – Greetings and Goodbyes

Author’s Note:

Hello to all you wonderful Avicii fans!

Sorry there has been no update in the last few days… Next week progress will also not be very fast – I have quite a lot going on at school.

But here’s the new chapter, so happy reading! :)

Tim’s Point of View

We sat down at a small table in the far corner with a bench on one side and a chair on the other. I smiled at Jay, despite my wishing I didn’t have to leave and go back on tour. I took in the restaurant surroundings. The furniture and décor was grey and bland, but the multi-coloured spots of light strewn around the room gave energy and life to the room. I glanced at Jay, who was staring at the flame of the candle in the centre of the table. I wondered whether she really was as okay with me having to leave, as she seemed earlier. I was almost oblivious to the waitress who walked over to our table and handed us the menus, and I realised that Jay had done all the talking. Why was I the one letting her deal with these things when she was clearly a little upset? I felt almost guilty.

“Jay, are you okay?” I asked her, returning into the real world.

“Yeah, well, I’m just scared of missing you, that’s all. We have spent so much time together since we met…”

“Yes, but you won’t be the only one missing someone, right? I mean, I’m going to miss you too, and we can still call each other and everything”

Jay picked up the big menu and looked at it, she looked as if she was trying to distract herself from thoughts of us being apart. I decided to take a look at my menu too.

“I think I’m going to have a pizza and coke, that’s always good cheer up food.” Jay said, sounding more optimistic.

“Me too, good idea!” I replied. My mind was too clogged up with other thoughts about the coming shows for me to be terribly interested in what I was eating, but I had always liked pizza.

We finished eating, which we did almost in silence, gazing into each other’s eyes every now and again. Jay was right; the pizza had relieved us from sad thoughts somewhat. I decided to join her on the bench and put my arm around her as we finished off our coke. Jay leaned into my body and I held her.

Jay’s Point of View

Tim put the few things he had taken out of his suitcase back inside, folded up a few of his clothes again, and then zipped it shut. I made the observation that his suitcase was very neat, something I had not necessarily been expecting. The last thing he had out was his large MacBook. He sat down on his bed and tweeted “Had a lovely day in London today, and met myself in Madame Tussaud’s, but I’m off to Boston now!”
