----- 11 Years Later -----

Landon's POV ;

"Congratulations bro!" My colleague/bestfriend Jaxon said to me as he patted me on the back.

"Thanks man, I'm 21, and already taking over my dad's company, it feels great, but I still feel like this will be a lot of responsibility." I take a deep breath. It's hard to think I had came in touch with my dad just 6 years ago, and now I'm leading his company. "Well get used to the praise, because, you know, being a CEO comes with a long line of ass-kissers. Make sure you get a good personal assistant, because you have no more 'you time' anymore, all it is now is work, work, work. At night when you finally get out of work, we could go to the bar and pick up chicks like we used to" Jaxon rambled on and on. I laughed because I could tell he was pretty wasted. That does remind me, I put the ad in the paper for a personal assistant, since today is Saturday, I have 2 days to look through the files.

"Hey man, I'm gonna head out, I've had a long day" I said, the stress of the day finally hitting me.

"Alright man, see you Monday Mr.CEO" he replied with a wink. I laughed until my stomach hurt, it probably wouldn't have been that funny if I wasn't so tired. I left my friend, and walked around receiving a few congrats, and replying with thanks for coming, before I finally made it out of the party, to my car. The ride home was long, but I finally arrived, I put my briefcase on the floor, and sighed heavily, as I plopped down onto the couch.

I must've fallen asleep somewhere in the night, because I woke up with a sore neck and I was on the couch in an awkward position. I rubbed my neck and outstretched my arms, while yawning. I tiredly made my way over to the coffee pot, bumping into at least 10 things on the way, nearly knocking over the vase on the table. As my coffee was being made I pressed the button on my answering machine, making sure I had nothing important, most were just congratulations, there were only a few left, but I decided to finish making a cup of coffee before I listened to the rest , to know who to send thank you cards out to . When I sat down the last message made me stop dead in my tracks .

"Hey ... um this is Brooke . I'm interviewing for this position as an assistant where you live , and I was wondering if you had an extra room I could stay in until I .. uh ... I know I haven't called or returned any of your messages ... but please call me back when you get this .. um I ... bye ." And that was that . I immediately picked  the phone up and re-dialed the number .

*Ring*

*Ring*

*Ring*

"Hello" a tired groggy angelic voice answered .
I didn't think I'd get this far, so I immediately hung up the phone. A minute later the phone began to ring with the same number.
I gulped "Hello"
"Hello is this Landon?"
I paused for a moment trying to compose my girly hype from hearing her voice.
"Yes. How have you been Brooke? And of course you can stay here until your interview." I proceeded to give her the address and tell her the great news about my promotion. She wanted to hear all about it, and said they would talk more when she arrived. I didn't want to hang up but I knew she had to go.
"Bye Brookie... it is okay if I call you that still right?"
"Yes of course, as long as I can still call you Lany" she laughed.
"Bye Lany." She said as she hung up.
I tried to control myself but I couldn't I screamed out "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIIIIIFE"
I was sure my neighbors heard me but I didn't care! I got my Brookie back!!!

Brooke's POV;

"Bye Lany" I said as I hung up. I exhaled hard. I couldn't believe he still wanted anything to do with me after I stopped replying to him. I'm nervous, I know we will ask me why I stopped replying to him, but how could I tell him what was going on. What I went through. My hair just finally started growing back but still I wear a wig. It's not that I'm ashamed, I just didn't think he would accept me like that...  I just hope he doesn't ask.

As I'm getting ready I wear his favorite color dress, he says his favorite color is blue because of my eyes. I smile reminiscing back to the memory.
I do my make up and my hair the way I know he likes, we haven't seen each other in years, I wonder if he will even like me anymore. Lord knows my feelings haven't changed for him. What if he has a girl friend? I began to wonder. So I check on his Facebook and see pictures from his promotion party, but it still says single. I sigh in relief, but then worry again that he just hadn't made it Facebook official.
"Calm down, calm down" I chant to myself.
My palms start to sweat from the nervousness.

I'm shaky as I sit and wait for my flight. I can't stop checking my watch, only 5 more minute until boarding, it shouldn't be bad only a 5 hour flight. Can't believe I'll be back in Virginia. It doesn't feel real.
My thoughts are interrupted by the lady saying;
"All passengers for the flight to Norfolk, Virginia can begin boarding now."

*5 hours later*

It seemed like forever passed before the seatbelt sign came on and the captain came on the loud speaker saying we are beginning to land and should arrive shortly.
A little while later we finally arrived and began to get off the plane.
As I get my bags I look over at a huge white sign saying "WELCOME BACK BROOKIE" my heart dropped when I saw him emerge from behind the white sign. His gorgeous hair, his deep dimples, the sexy hazel eyes. I just want to jump on him. Without thinking I run and jump on him but instead of falling he catches me and we stare at eachother for a minute. I clear my throat awkwardly.
"Hey Lany. I missed you."
"Brookie. You have no idea how much I've missed you."
I get off of him and we walk to his car. As he puts my bags in the car I go sit in the passenger seat, and I see a picture of us as kids on his dashboard. I wanted to cry because I missed it so much. There's so much I wanted to say to him but instead as we drive to his house, the drive is silent with nothing but the low sound of the radio, but it's not awkward, it's just content. We have a few days to talk right now it just feels good being in each other's presence.
