The Night Everything Changed

One month Later...

It was a cool, crisp night on planet Corneria and Wolf O'Donnell had just received a paycheck after a long week at work. He parks his Wolfen at a "fancy" restaurant. He walks inside and is seated but something catches his eye. Its a lonely fox, not just any ordinary fox, but his rival Fox McCloud. Wolf quickly remembers about the previous months, how Fox was in a coma after Pigma ruthlessly shot him down. He snarls to himself and tears up, but quickly wipes his eyes as he notices Fox already crying. Wolf wasn't coldhearted and felt sorrow for the vulpine, so he sneaks over to Fox's table and sits across from him.

Fox perks up his ears and snarls at the wolf, "What do you want!?"

"Whoa! Easy there, I wanted to make sure you were okay," the canine replies, "I saw you in tears...What happened?"

"What do you care?" Fox responds, trying to hold his tears back, "Shouldn't you be glad to see me in pain?"

"I know we're rivals, but I'm not a cold-blooded jerk..."

"...I don't care...just please leave me alone..."

"I'm afraid I can't do that...Please tell me what as you upset."

"I'm not falling for your tricks, you'll use the information to blackmail me or something...Just go away..."

"Don't you get it? I can't...I'm worried about you Foxie...Let me be your listening ear." Wolf lays a paw on Fox's shoulder.

Fox slightly blushes, Wolf never seemed concerned about him ever so why now? "I uhm...I was waiting for someone...Someone who didn't show up..."

Wolf smiles at the floor, "So your date didn't show..."

Fox nods as he begins to cry again, "This always happens...every time..."

Wolf slowly looks up and out the window, "Well everyone is missing out..."

Fox quickly looks up as well and wipes his eyes, "W-wait what?"

"They're missing out on the best date they'll ever have," Wolf turns around and walks back to his table.

"Wait!" Fox chases after him, "What did you mean by that...?"

"Isn't it obvious..." Wolf looks over at the door.

Fox's cheeks instantly blush a light shade of pink, "I-I..."

"You don't need to say anything...See ya around..." Wolf gets up and leaves the restaurant without eating.

"Wolf..." Fox dashes outside, only to find that Wolf had already flown away, "I didn't know..."
