Ch 3
I double checked my list of everything that had to be packed. I checked my watch to see what time it was; 6:30. I sighed in relief as I got my suitcase down to the lobby and loaded it into the taxi. As I rode to the airport, I was thinking about all the things I wanted to do in London, even though I might have already done them. When I went to London with my mom, I was only 12, and 12 year olds don't like architecture or admiring what London has to offer. Now that I'm older, I appreciate the sights and the historic parts of London.
I smiled to myself when I thought about Tom. I never met the beautiful man, but I do know that he is really sweet. He saved my life in all honesty. My teen years weren't very kind to me. So I always used to look at pictures of him or watch some of his interviews to make me feel better. Whatever. The jerk of the car snapped me out of my thoughts.
"What airline are you on Miss?" He asked.
"Oh British Airways," I said. We drove to my terminal and I thanked the man for driving me. I grabbed my suitcase and violin, and headed for the baggage drop off. As I walked towards baggage claim, I heard a vaguely familiar voice near me.
"Oh dammit. . ." Was all I heard and I whipped around to see a childhood friend.
"Mikki?!" I asked. She looked up and her eyes widened comically.
"Lea?! Oh my lord, it's you! You've changed! A lot!" I laughed as I hugged her. Mikki was a middle school friend. I trusted her with everything like I did with Sarah. Only Sarah was a highschool friend and Mikki was a middle school friend. We got separated when we finished 8 grade because she went to a different high school. She has changed a lot since I last saw her. The last time I saw her, she wasn't wearing a dress and a very EXPENSIVE one I may add. Oh something was up. . .
"Anyway. . .what's the get up?" I asked her suspiciously, looking her up and down, making sure she picked the right choice, whatever she was dressing up for. I was a little OCD about that sort of thing.
"I have an internship in Paris," She said. She explained to me that she had applied for a job there somewhere in Paris and that she might actually think of living there too.
After a lot of talking and catching up, I checked my watch; 8:30.
"Well, I gotta go. Security and all that," I said.
"Ok! Here let me give you my number so we can stay in touch," She wrote it down and we said our goodbyes.

As I sat waiting at the gate, I opened my Harry Potter book and continued to read. Even after 20 years I still love Harry Potter. I plugged my headphones into my phone and started playing music and right then announcer said we were boarding soon. I shut off everything and put my book away. I stood up and waited for them to start boarding and after about 5 minutes, they were boarding passengers. I walked onto the plane and put my carry on in the overhead before sitting down. I pulled my book out of my bag and set my bag down under the seat in front of me. I started to read while thinking. . . 'Here I come London. Be ready for me,' before I got lost in the world of books

I dropped my bags on my bed and collapsed on to it, surveying my surroundings. I closed my eyes and smiled to myself knowing that I was finally here. I grabbed my phone and called Sarah's number, hoping she would pick up. She answered on the fourth ring, sounding squealy.
"Hey! I just got here," I told her.
"REALLY?! Ok good! Do you have the news paper in your room?" She asked. I was curious as to why so I looked around and found it in a drawer in my nightstand.
