Ch 10
~
There was a terrible pounding in my head when I woke up. I tried to pry my eyes open, but there was a blinding white light blocking my vision. I tried to move to stand, but all I could feel was excruciating pain. It felt like there were knives stabbing my body, over and over again.
I winced as I finally stood up. I looked around me and all I saw was white. It seemed to go on forever.
Was this how it was like to die? Am I even dead? Am I dreaming? Where was I?
I saw that I was dressed in a white gown that was much too large for me and that my skin had gone from a healthy brown tan, to a fragile ghost-like white color. I was about to start walking when I heard a voice behind me.
"Stop. Please," It said. I froze. I slowly, ever so slowly, turned around. There, standing in front of my very real eyes, was Jade Olivia Gordan.
Now I knew I had to be dead, or dreaming. Jade looked. . .beautiful really. She was wearing a lacy white dress that had long sleeves. It was long in the back, so long, that it skidded across the white floor. Her hair was straightened and she had brown boots covering her feet up to her knees. I stood there frozen before I started blurting out questions.
"Where am I? What am I doing here? Am I dead? What is happening?! Who are-"
"SHHH," She said. She had tried to walk near me, but I was having none of it.
"No...please...don't...don't come near me..." I said, as I backed up a little. I winced as I walked, my whole body protesting in pain.
She stopped and a small sad smile graced her lips.
"You know me-"
"Yes...I know you...you're Tom's ex-girlfriend..." I said. I tried not to be jealous or sound scathing, but it was difficult.
"Yes. I am...I am also aware that you, are currently, his girlfriend," She said in a creepy, sweet voice. "I mean...I did disappear...I just didn't know that he would pick...such...interesting...-"
"Stop. Stop NOW. I know you were his girlfriend-" She cut me off again.
"No. I AM his girlfriend," She said in a matter-of-fact tone. I felt ice encase my heart and a chill run through my vains like electricity.
"What do you mean...?" I asked in a distinctive whisper. What did she MEAN? Isn't she...dead? Tom didn't say she was dead. He said that she had disappeared...
"You see Lea...I was his first love. His first true love. That day, when I disappeared...I just needed a break. A break from all the paparazzi and all the glamor. I knew that I would hurt him, but I couldn't tell him. I knew that it was wrong, but I was so tired of being all around the cameras. But I knew when I did come alive again, I would still be Tom'a girlfriend. But then, I find that he has moved on. A girl that is five years younger than him. A girl that is clueless to love. A girl who is weak and pathetic that can't even drink wine without passing out!" She said in a humorless tone.
I was in tears now. I was shaking, and I wanted this nightmare to be over.
"He loves me...I know it...I can feel it...he does. He even TOLD me he did-"
"Oh I'm sure he does sweetie. But when I reappear, what will you do then? Will you go back to that 'alone' life? He won't even think a second about you when he sees me because-"
