"Come on, Princess. He's here." Your friend called out to you from outside your door.
Your prince was here and you didn't know how to feel. Despite everyone telling you, you still weren't positive that he would love you. That he would be happy to spend the rest of his life with you. That wouldn't hate you because he was forced to marry you. These thoughts ran through your mind as three knocks landed on your door.
"I'm coming." you spoke, realizing that they were growing impatient.
You walked out and walked down the hallways. Looking at the pointless artworks bought for you to make you feel better. It didn't. At this point, you figured nothing would. That is, until you reached the last door in the hallway and opened it. You instantly saw lots of familiar faces. Your parents, your friends, some of the workers our the kingdom, and you even saw Pete standing next to a handsome, pale man. 'Is that him?' you thought. 'Possibly.' It was silent. They stood there, standing is awe of your beauty.
"There she is." said your mother, finally breaking the silence.
"Everyone, shall we let them finally introduce themselves?" she asked. They just nodded and left the room. Except Pete and of course, Patrick.
"Peter, come. Leave them alone." your mother stated, possibly annoyed at him.
"But, your highness, I want to stay. Patrick isn't very good with words. I can help him."
"I'm sure he'll be just fine. Come now."
Pete left with your mother and Patrick started to walk towards you.
"Hello princess. I am prince Patrick. But you knew that. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
He took your hand and kissed it lightly.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Patrick." Your hand was still with his and you liked it that.
"So, are you okay with this?" he asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, marrying me. You're so beautiful, you could have any man in the kingdom. But instead you are forced to marry me. Are you okay with marrying an awkward prince like me?" He frowned and took his gaze off you and moved it to the floor.
You took your finger and raised his chin so he was looking at you again.
"I'm more than okay with marrying you Patrick. We'll learn to love each other and maybe you'll learn to be less awkward." He chuckled.
"Thank you princess." He moved closer to you, removing any space you two had between each other.
"Princess? Would it be okay to kiss you? You know, to practice for our wedding day?" You just nodded as his beauty left you speechless. He gently grabbed your face and kissed you. Any weird feelings you had about Patrick were gone. Everything about him was perfect. His lips, his hands, his eyes, just everything. The kiss lasted for another three minutes, but it felt like ten seconds.
"Perhaps we should get to know each other better." you suggested.
"That's sounds like a good idea."
For hours, you and Patrick talked about your lives and what could possibly happen in the future. While you were talking, Patrick kept glancing at your lips. As if he wanted to kiss you again.
"Princess, can we practice again?"
"Practice what?"
His lips were instantly on yours again. The perfect moment was interrupted by knocks on the door.
"I would like to let you continue sucking on her face, but it's time for dinner." It was Pete.
"We should probably head down." you told him.
"Good idea, you're just full of them aren't you?" he joked.
"I guess I am. Come on." You grabbed his hand headed down to the dining room.
"Can I tell you a secret?" he asked.
"Sure."
"I can't wait to marry you."
