Ever since I was a child I could hear what everyone was thinking. It was like a sixth sense that no one else had. I was different, and was constantly punished for that. I would have to go to the doctors every week to get pills and a check-up on my wounds caused by my supposedly classmates of mine. After a year I moved schools and started out fresh. I learnt how to control the voices in my head and made it through to high school. That's where I currently am. At school, in lesson three, English, and this is where I start my story.

"Okay class, the first person to get this last question right, may leave class early to go to recess," Mrs Fabray said to my class.

"Anyone? How about you, Alesia?"

I lifted my head from my text book, already feeling everyone's eyes on me as they wait for me to answer.

"Ahh.....well, Romeo killed himself because he thought Juliet had died and he'd rather be with her in the pits of hell than to live without her, so he committed suicide," I concluded.

"Well said, Alesia. You may take your books and go to recess. As for the rest of you, write me a seven sentenced paragraph as to why Romeo thought Juliet had died," Mrs Fabray barked at the rest of the class, while I was packing up my books.

As I proceeded to leave, a few thoughts from my classmates seeped into my mind. Such as; 'Lucky b**** got out before me. I'll make her pay' and 'Goody-two-shoes' and 'Teacher's pet' followed by 'Poor Alesia. She needs to dim her smartness level down a bit, before she gets it from Rachel'

I had to smile at the last thought, because I know whose it was. It was Lizbeth. She was one of Rachel's followers, but she never seemed to want to insult me like Rachel does. Liz is a sweet and beautiful girl. How she became a follower to such a low life, I'll never know, but all I know is that I have at least one person who thinks a little high of me.

I rounded the corner of the hall way to the exiting door, when I felt another's body smash into mine. I fell to the floor, bruising my arm from the contact with the cold surface. I tried to move my arm, but the pain shot through my whole limb and all I could do was wince at the excruciating pain. Just before I could try to get up and walk away from such an embarrassing accident, a strong arm wrapped around my waist and hoisted me up. I looked up to see who it was that was helping me up after they stampeded on me, when I was captured by mesmerising moss green eyes. I was so intrigued by them, that I nearly missed him talking, nearly.

"I'm so, so sorry. I was running away from the school leader and.......what are you staring at?" He asks.

"Ahh.....well...ummm"

"Hey you! How dare you run away from a school leader! We were literally just in the middle of discussing the buddy system for you, Newbie," Yells Sam, the School Leader from down the hall at the other end. I have to mentally note myself to thank him later for interrupting when he did.

"Well then you're in luck cause I've already got a buddy and she's right here," My 'stampeding friend' says as he gestures to me. Sam gives me a once over glance then nods in approval at the choice of buddies. My face turns a crimson red which makes me even more embarrassed.

"Now that one problem is over and done with, time to get to the next one. Your hair. It has to be natural, not dyed like yours," Sam says with extreme power eminating from each and every word.

"It is natural. If you need proof, I can give it to you. It's not that hard."

I kind of 'forgot' to look at his hair when he ran into me, but it doesn't look natural from my point of view. His hair is a dark black colour, cut shabbily half way down the back of his neck, whiles half of his face, and one of those gorgeous moss green eyes, is hidden behind thick red bangs. After inspecting his face I had a quick skim at the rest of him. He's at least 6ft tall. You can see his torso flattened against his thin black shirt, which is tucked behind faded denim jeans. To be truthful, from where I'm standing he looked devilishly hot. I was pulled out of my trance when Sam spoke once more.

"Well show me your proof," he says while tapping his foot slightly against the tiled floor.

"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you," My new 'red-headed buddy' said as he pulled Sam by the collar of his shirt to the nearest men's room, leaving me stranded in the hall way, thinking how he was going to prove he was a natural red-head. I grew tired of waiting, so I 'tuned in' on Sam's thoughts; 'No! My eyes! How could he do this to me? Just pull your pants up, Idiot!'

I 'tuned out' before I could hear anything else unwanted and just stood where I was with a scarlet blush plastered all over my face. When they finally came out of the men's room, Sam hurried back to his area near the senior locker rooms. Once again leaving me, but this time with the new student. I turn around slowly to face the red-head and look him straight in the eyes as I politely ask, "What's your name and why choose me as your buddy?"

"I'm sorry for being so rude. My name is Blake Ferguson. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.....?" He says with a gentleman voice, but I couldn't take him seriously with that cocky smile plastered all over his face.

"Alesia," I answered.

"Alesia?" He rolls off his tongue as his eyes wonder the length of me.

To tell you the absolute truth, I don't look that bad, if you were to ask me. I have raven black hair that ends at my lower back. My fringe is bobby pinned loosely back, which lets bits fall onto my face. My hair makes my sapphire blue eyes stand out on my pale like complex. I'm wearing a loose, long sleeved sweater with skinny jeans and converse. I'm only 5ft 4, but I'm still considered small.

"If you're done staring I would like to go to lunch," I say, getting a little pissed off at him sizing me up like I'm a piece of furniture in an auction. I twirl around on my nimble feet and head towards my previous destination. The exit door. I only make it half way down the hall when HIS voice stops me.

"Can I go with you? I'm new, so I don't know anyone and you're meant to be my buddy, right?" His voice sounds sarcastic, even though the words seem sincere.

"Fine but don't annoy me ok."
