I closed my eyes as the subway zipped to my destination. This was my daily ritual, after a long day at school, and an even longer evening at work I just needed to rest my eyes. I can't remember the last time I had a day off. Not that I can have one. Keeping an apartment and a child, with a shitty job was hard work. Most would say 'why don't you better job'. Honestly, I don't think there is a better job for an eighteen year old girl who hasn't finished her education.
I felt my chair shift as someone sat next to me. It was strange. I've been sitting in this same spot for the past four years and everyone knows me but, no one even looks at me. Sitting next to me was just strange. I've created my very unapproachable aura that the regulars understand. It was practically their job to avoid me completely so new comers didn't feel the need to sit next to me.
Then this person procedes to ask me, " So, where's your destination? " I opened my eyes slightly to glance at them. It was guy. I hated random guys, they make me feel uncomfortable. I can see the regulars staring in interest. I don't think they've ever heard my voice before, they were waiting for me to talk. This guy had dark blonde hair, big brown eyes, a friendly smile and a nice suit. Not what I was expecting. The suit had a little seal on it that looked familiar Ibrushed it off, though.
" What's it to you? " I answered coldly, closing my eyes again. After a long period of silence, I smiled to myself as I came to the conclusion that he was not going to speak to me anymore. The subway sunk back to it's normal level of energy. The sound of the wheels speeding down the tracks was the only thing that I could hear, like always. Of course, that was until the guy said " You know, you're really pretty. "
I huffed out as I turned to face him fully for the first time, " Listen dude, I don't know what your deal is but, it's pretty damn obvious that I don't want to talk so can you shut your mouth. " He chuckled. He frickin' chuckled! What's this dudes problem?
" Your even prettier when your mad, " he continued to annoy me. I shot daggers at him as I felt my ears heat up. They're probably red as a tomato right now. I opened my mouth to scold him only to be cut off by a robotic voice.
" We have arrived at Main Rose Station, if this is your destination please procede to the doors, they will open shortly. " Great, this is my stop now I can get away from the creepo.
I stood up, grabbing my bag and walking to the doors, as the subway came to a stop. I hope this guy wasn't going to be a regular. He probably wasn't though, this ride was to the ghettos of New Kent. His fancy suit told me that he wouldn't be going here often. Probably some stuck up rich kid, going to get some drugs for a good price. I might've looked easy. Most high class boys assume that about all the girls around here, but that is not always the truth. The only men I interact with are my teachers, boss, coworkers, James, and my little boy, Wyatt.
Besides, sexual interaction was ruined for me a long time ago. My number one is priority was my boy, nothing came before him. I smiled as I thought of my little Wyatt. Sadly, he looks allot like his father. The only thing I gave him, were his dark brown eyes and a cute little button nose. But everything else screamed his father, earning him strange glances every once and a while. Everyone knew what his father looked like.
From the blonde hair, mouth that was always in a slight smirk, and the general shape of his face. I ignored it, if I didn't I was practically begging for a nightmare. The doors slid open, I stepped out into the buzzing station. I nodded my head at Bill, a homeless man whose sat in the same spot for as long as I could remember. Today he had a new sign, he gave me a smile that showed off the small amount of teeth he still had in there.
