Light And Dark

chapter one

Exhausted Adriana raked her hands through her long dark wavy hair that was now messy. she had been running in the woods after a sweet melodic voice that had been there calling her name, now the voice had disappeared and she was dead tired. Giving up the chase she walked back home.
She froze when she felt her sister's fear and pain course through her,she  gasped at the intensity of the pain. Then she heard the familiar sound of furniture breaking and things thrown apart.

Deep down she wished there was something she could do to help her sister but knowing there was nothing she turned around and ran from the noises and the heart breaking sounds of fists making contact with a body.
She couldn't go to the park knowing her friends were there so she ran back to the woods away from her home.
Adriana Montez had grown up without a mother but with all the love and care something her sister didn't have,she 5'6 with grey-green eyes that sparkled. Everyone adored her and detested her  sister and that angered her.

"Why couldn't it have been you that fucking died that night. you monster of a bitch?! Tell me why?!" Richard Montez growled raining kicks and blows on his daughter. Punching her in the gut one last time he left the house banging the door behind him. Andrea Montez twin sister to Adriana Montez dragged her bloodied body to a small store that had become her room. She cleaned the house,did the laundry,cooked. Yet still she was treated like trash. The room was very tiny with a thin battered mattress laid on the flow. She laid down as the tears flowed freely while she sobbed.

"Hey I brought you food Andy" Adriana whispered from the door. She walked in  and  sat beside her sister noticing that Andrea's wounds were healing fast. Unnaturally fast for a human.

"Adri, listen am leaving, I can't stay here any longer or dad will surely succeed in killing me. We are turning 18 tomorrow right? Well I'll escape before anything happens to me. Come tomorrow you won't see me here."  she took in a deep sharp breath when she noticed Adriana's unshed tears.

"I'll take care of myself out there don't worry. Come what may please be careful with your abilities,  don't reveal your real self to anyone unless you're certain of their loyalty to you.  I'll miss you but its about time we moved on. I'll contact you whenever I get the chance to do so. Now please go to your room and pretend you haven't seen me....I love you siz...take care."

The two siblings embraced before Adriana left the room disheartened.
She was worried about her twin, how would she survive out there all alone? God please protect her.
Andrea knew without a doubt that time has come for her to leave, to face the world on her own away from her abusive father.
She knew she had a destiny to fulfill and that would only become possible if she left. She didn't own much clothing for she was never bought anything. Adriana used to sneak in to give her some of her stuff each time she was bought anything new.
The time had finally come for Andrea Montez to start her journey. Though she didn't know anyone out there she will survive . The Dark Child had to stay alive
