You heard a scream in the distance. Then another, and another. It was the middle of the night and nearby bangs, thumps, and gunshots echoed. You got up from your crate and inspected everything within eye's reach. Nothing.

You got up and for some reason the first thought that came to mind was Alaude.

He told you once before that if you proved yourself to him as someone strong, he'll give you a treat. This intrigued you and motivated you to be the best thief. You were wondering why now, of all times, were you thinking about this.

You wobbled a little, but before you gained your balance, someone from behind you grabbed you and covered your mouth with a cloth. You were being kidnapped.

You did your best to fight off the kidnapper, managing quick kicks and powered elbows to their stomach. It worked! It seems this particular guy was inexperienced because soon after you escaped another man took hold of you and knocked you out.

You found yourself struggling in what felt like a potato sack, perhaps it was. You were dumped somewhere and soon after you were being transported somewhere. This was your chance to prove you were strong. This was your chance to prove that you were worthy of Alaude who, as you have witnessed many times, was able to single-handedly defeat mobs of killers and "arrest [them] to death."

You searched your body. It seems the kidnappers took away all your belongings, even most of your clothing. Your hands were turning blue from being tied so tightly and your hair was all over your face. You managed to rock yourself left in right to learn you were in a carriage. You tried breaking down the doors or any walls that got in your way, but nothing worked. You decided to give it one last push and heaved at whatever came at you.

Crack.

The walls of the carriage were weakening. You were not ready to give up now. You kept on attacking the carriage until it came to a sudden stop. Suddenly, you heard a deep voice.

"You lil' @#$%&*@#$!"

He kicked you.

"SHUT THE @#$% UP!"

You were tired. You were worn. You were weak.

You couldn't take it and closed your eyes as the man opened up the potato sack you were in. He pulled you out like a rag and began to inspect you.

"Good." He sighed.

"Now, who's the good girl-" He began to touch you with evil intentions.

You thought to yourself NO! ONLY ALAUDE! ONLY-

And as if an angel, or perhaps a demon, heard you a flash of something silver captured the unknown man.

"You stole something of mine-" The rings around the man began to multiply. They were handcuffs!

"And now, I will arrest you." Alaude pulled at the chain.

"To death."

The man plopped to the ground, saliva and blood coming out of his mouth. He lost consciousness.

Alaude collected his blood stained handcuffs and looked at you the corner of his eyes. He began to approach you and grinned. You couldn't tell he was teasing or if he was relieved. You didn't care. You felt ashamed. You wished you had saved yourself. Why did he have to come?

"Thanks-"

He slapped you in the face. You felt you deserved that.

"Idiot thief."

He picked you up and hung you over his shoulders. You wanted to cry, but you didn't want to show him how hurt or sad or happy you were. Unconsciously, you began to cry softly on his shoulders.

The next day, you found yourself in the exact spot you were in yesterday. Fully clothed and on your crate. Was it a dream? You tried getting up, but everything hurt. You tried turning your head. In the shadows of the alleyway, there stood a figure. You couldn't make it out, but they were standing, arms folded, and looking down. You closed your eyes for a moment, and in the next, a trench coat was pulled over your shoulders.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm a policeman. It is my job to see the victims through."

You smiled a little and turned over.

"Well, I'm fine."

"I was agitated that I didn't find you here this morning-"

You laughed a little. "You mean worried?"

Alaude looked away.

"Whatever. I do what I want."

Your voice was small. "Why can't I be stronger..."

You closed your eyes tighter. Alaude came closer to you and smirked.

"You are strong."

You opened your eyes to find a grinning Alaude smack in your face. You blushed a little.

"I wouldn't do this if you weren't strong."

He kissed you and rested his head on your shoulders.

"But..." He turned his head a little to see your face,

"That makes you mine."

You wrapped your arms around his neck and held him close.

Silence.

"Then may I have permission to go into the Vongola Mansion now?" You teased as you held him tighter and kissed him on his head.

He smirked and muffled a no. You laughed a little. What did you expect? He got up and straightened himself out. He put on his police cap.

"I better see you in my office tomorrow for official police business."

"W-What?" You tried to lift your body up.

"I have some questions for you." He smirked and continued to speak, "I'll carry you there if I have to." He had a serious expression on his face, but you knew what he was up to.

"Geez..."

"I'll arrest you if you're late."

You laughed.

"I wouldn't mind."

He looked at you.

"Then, you are mine." He smirked and walked away.

You learned something that day. You learned that Alaude doesn't say "I love you" like normal people do. Instead, he says,

"You're mine."

...and...

Maybe that was all you needed to hear.
