Harleen's POV
I stare at the ceiling fan rotating in the dark. I admire the way the small sliver of light from my window shines onto the fan, moving slightly back and forth due to the fans rotation. My deep concentration was broken when I heard my alarm go off. 5:15. Every morning I lay awake waiting for the clock to read that number and the alarm to go off, and every morning it does. I slowly sit up and smile. Today I am meeting a new patient. I work at the Arkham Asylum and I couldn't be happier. I love my job because the people I get to work with are so fascinating. I get to hear their story's, each one is different, and they are never boring. I believe if I can understand them, learn why they are the way they are, I can cure them. I am excited to meet my new patient. I can't wait to hear his story.

I hop off my bed and go straight to the bathroom. I brush my teeth, put my long blond hair into a nice professional bun, wash my face and head to the closet. I like to make good first impressions so most of my clothes are rather professional. I slip on a black skirt, a white button up collared shirt, and my lab coat. I keep my shoes by my door so I can slip them on and go. After grabbing what I need for work and getting my shoes I start my drive. I look at my car clock, 5:55. Every morning I enter my car at exactly 5:55. I don't like to be late, so I keep the time I use to get ready very limited.

- 30 minutes later -

As I pull up to the Asylum my heart skips a beat. I always get excited when I'm being introduced to new patients, and from what I have heard this guy has a interesting story. I walk up to the doors of the Asylum and a guard opens them for me. While heading to meet my new patient a guard tells me he goes by 'The Joker' and that he is more than crazy. "He's psycho." He whispers. "The best people are." I say to myself. One of the gaurds walks up to the metal door before me and types in a pass code. After a few seconds the door beeps then opens. The room is dark except for where the light from a window beams onto a small table. The table has two chairs directly across from each other and 'The Joker' sits in one of them with his head down staring at the table.

I walk forward and the metal door closes behind me. As I sit in the chair in front of the Joker he starts to grin. He slowly looks up at me. I carefully observe his face. He has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. They are pale blue and they have a certain glow to them. His silver covered teeth make his smile stand out but his bright red lips are what caught my attention.

"Well? You just gonna sit there and stare at me or are ya gonna tell me who you are and what the hell you're doing here?" He said with a smile.
"Harleen Quinnzel. That's my name. I am your new phycologist." I said sitting up straight.
He laughed. His laugh was loud and intimidating and filled the once quiet room with a fearful but brilliant sound.
"What a pretty name. Do your friends call you Harley?" He asked me leaning inward.
"Oh uh, I don't have many friends.." I replied. It was true. I'm not a very social person. My work often keeps me occupied every day of the week.
"Well Harley, you've got one now." He grinned.
"So, Mistah J. Tell me about yourself." I said smiling.
"Mistah J.. I like it. Well, there ain't nothing much to tell. I had a sucky childhood and when I got older I got mixed up with some real bad people." He said while watching me write down what he was saying.
"Ya know doc, you are stunning. Perfect blond hair. Beautiful glowing eyes. How'd you end up working at a place like this?" The joker said laughing. I started to blush and tried to hide it by keeping my head down focusing on my notes.
"You are very kind, but we are here to talk about you. Does that shirt you're wearing get uncomfortable?" I asked.
"All the time. Been wearing it since I got here. But I barely notice it anymore. I have a question for you though. Why are ya trying to hide the fact that you are blushing?" His grin widened.
"I'll see if you can have that uncomfortable thing removed, and I'm doing no such thing." I smiled and looked at my hands.

The Joker leaned forward and whispered, "Don't hide ya pretty face doc."
I leaned in closer to him. Our faces were so close. I could feel his cold breath on my face as he rubbed his nose against mine. Our lips touched for a slipt second then I heard the buzzer go off that signaled the session was over. The Joker sighed and leaned back into his chair.
The metal door opened and the gaurds stood outside waiting for me.
I got up and turned for the door then stopped. He was right behind me, his head on my shoulder, his body pushed against mine. He whispered in my ear,
"See ya tomorrow, doc." Then laughed his crazy wonderful laugh as I left the room.

- Later That Night -
I look at the clock, 11:59 pm. I can't sleep. The kiss replayed in my head. I remembered his touch. He was so gentle yet at the same time it seemed like he wanted me to be scared. I get to see him again. Just a few more hours.
