Today is September 10th, my birthday. Today is one of those days I wish Sam was here, it would have have felt good to have celebrated with him. I had friends and family, but it just didn't feel the same without Sam. It's about 11:30 and everybody has gone home by now, my mom has gone to bed, as well as my little sister. I heard a knock at the door, so I go downstairs to see who it was...
"Sam..?" I say with teary eyes. I instantly jump into his arms and hug him tightly, ignoring the gifts in his hands. I let go and look up at him.
"Hey, didn't think I was gonna miss another birthday, did you?" Sam says with a smirk and a small laugh.
"No... No, of course not." I say clearly lying and wipe my face. I invite Sam inside and offer him any food or drinks. Sam tells me he ate before he came, but he'll take a beer.
"Go ahead and sit down in front room, make yourself comfortable." I tell Sam and I bring him a beer, sitting beside him. Sam gestures thank you and opens his beer.
"So, Sam, how's it been?" I ask still astonished and shocked he's here.
"It's been alright, just dealing with business. How about you?" Sam says setting his beer on a coaster and turning towards me.
"Finishing up school and just keeping a steady job. It's great to see you again." I say smiling.
"It's great to see you as well, what have you been studying in school." Sam replies, running his hand through his locks.
"Art, I've always wanted to expand my knowledge and improve." I say back, nodding my head.
"Glad you're doing what you wanted." Sam says, smiling and patting my back. He hands me the bags in his hands.
"Open Them, I hope you like them. One's from Dean and the other from me." I open Sam's first, it's a picture of Dean, him, and myself. I tear up a little at the picture, it reminds me of when times were a little simpler. The second part of Sam's gift, was one of his jackets. I look up at Sam with tears and wet cheeks.
"Thank you.." I say faintly, with a trembling smile.
"It's my pleasure." Sam says, wiping my face and pulling me into a hug. His arms were big and warm, I seemed to get lost in his arms and calmed down. Sam pushed me away to get A good look at me, to only put me back into another long hug, which turned to cuddling and falling asleep together on the sofa.
