The cold air hugged Mia as she tried wrapping the coat around her trying to get warm. It was in the middle of December and it was snowing softly, light Christmas music playing around Times Square. The chilly air not helping Dylan, which he came from LA not having any cold clothes which he had to use her old dad's coat they found and Mia didn't no why her mom kept it all this time.
Her eyes lit up when Dylan walked towards her with two cups of hot mocha coffee. "Okay baby girl what do you want to do first?"
Mia grabbed the coffee from his warm hands bringing it up to her mouth breathing in the warmth scent. She loved coffee and could never get rid of it. "Dyl I'm showing you around New York not you showing me." Mia looked around New York and thought of the perfect place to go. "Come on pretty boy." Mia grabbed his hand dragging him along while he laughed.
"Pretty boy? Is that my new nickname for the day?" Dylan asked humor behind his voice making Mia grin. Dylan looked around his surroundings as he let Mia lead the way. Dylan was so amazed by New York's beauty and what was in front of him, his girlfriend. It made him want to jump and cheer now that Mia was his girlfriend, finally.
"Im not sure. I think I like this pretty boy." Mia responded back joking stopping in front of a little shop that Mia loved going to with her mom when she was a little girl. "I loved this place when I was little."
The bell rung as Mia and Dylan stepped inside the little shop and an women about Mia's moms age looked up from the book she was reading and smiled at the couple. "Mia is that you?" The women looked Mia up and down and quickly got up running to go to Mia pulling her into a hug. "It is you!"
The women pulled back a big smile on her face and she gushed grabbing Mia's hands. "You're so beautiful!"
Before Mia could respond and thank the women she knew from her childhood, Dylan spoke for her. "Oh believe she is."
"And who is this young man?" The women asked raising her eyebrows at his comment.
"Anne this is my boyfriend Dylan, Dylan this is one of me and my moms friend since I was a little girl. She would babysit me and help me and my mom when we we're in trouble." Mia spoke and Dylan could tell the way her voice tone and her eyes lit up when she spoke about Anne like she was apart of her family. She was important to her, and that made Dylan instantly say this lady would be important to him too, because she made Mia happy.
"Hi nice to meet you." Dylan said smiling going to shake Anne's hand but instead Anne brought Dylan into a hug making Mia hide her giggle behind her hand at Dylan's surprised face but he hugged her anyways.
"Nice to meet you too young man. You are so handsome! Mia you did good honey!" Anne gushed pulling away from Dylan and smiled at the two when Mia grabbed Dylan's hand. She could tell the young couple were in love with each other. It made her heart ache with the thought of her husband and her when they we're that young once.
