"Jawn! We need milk and diapers!" Sherlock calls up the stairs.
"Alright! I'll go to the store as soon as Violet wakes up! You coming with?"
"No. Lestrade needs help with a case, we're emailing and he's sending pictures."
John comes down stairs, looking tired.
"Love, why don't you just go to the crime scene? I know you're getting restless."
Sherlock doesn't look up from his screen, "Because... I'm not ready to leave Violet. Or you."
"Do you not trust me?" John asks, faking hurt.
"Of course not! You need help. I know what happens to couples. One goes to work, the other stays with the baby. The one who takes care of the baby gets too worn out. It all ends in a big fight."
John tries to hide his smile. Where did this Sherlock come from?
"Can I leave Violet here with you? Just for a few minutes while I shop?"
Sherlock nods his head, and John hands him Violet.
John leaves after giving Sherlock a peck on the cheek.
Sherlock stands up when Violet starts crying. He hums her the waltz that he had played at his and John's wedding. When that didn't work, he tried to rock her, and that didn't help. So he kept walking around.
Sherlock looked at his daughter, with love he only felt for one other person. 'My family' he thinks to himself.
"Violet... You have a wonderful father. He will take good care of you... When I can't." He whispers.
After fifteen minutes, John returns. His arms heavy with sacks.
"I said we needed milk and diapers. Not the entire store!" Sherlock says.
"Yes well... Big sale today. Great prices."
Sherlock laughs at his husband.
"I'm going to lay Violet down. I'll come down here and help"
