Mark took the pizza stained plates out to the kitchen, leaving Jack alone in the living room, licking the last of the tomato puree off his fingers.

He took out his phone and scrolled through the comments of his latest video. His eyes watered up as he began to reply to hundreds of thank yous and compliments he and his channel received. He ran his fingers through his neon green hair and brought his hand back down to his neck, pressing against the bruise that stretched across it.

He remembered walking into Mark's apartment and stumbling across Mark lying on his bed. He was mumbling in his sleep, probably a sleep talker. But as Jack had turned to leave the room, Mark had him pinned up against the wall, gripping his hand tightly around his neck. His heart was in his throat as he screamed out to Mark, but his eyes were not his own.

His eyes were a soulless black that glistened in the light from the window, accompanied by a wide fanged grin. Jack's vision went blurry as he was dropped to the floor. He saw Mark walk over to to his bed and lay back down.

After catching his breath, Jack stood up, his legs weak with fear as he slowly edged towards the lifeless body on the bed. He places his trembling hand on Mark's head and through his hair.

*He's sick?*

Mark woke up and eyed Jack. Thank god, his eyes were his normal brown. Mark yelled at him to stop messing with his hair.

*He doesn't remember.*

Jack just played along like nothing had happened. But the experience had really shaken him. He could understand if Mark was a sleep walker, but those eyes, what were they?

"Dude, you okay?" Mark asked. Jack snapped out of his trance and looked back up at his friend.

"Y ... Yeah! Just lost in thought I guess." Jack smiled as Mark sat down next to him and flicked through the TV channels. He finally decided to watch an animal documentary and took a swig of cola.

Jack looked on at his friend.

*Should I tell him?*
