It Gets Better

A beautiful young girl wants to be a teacher,

a veterinarian, 

a ballerina.

By her 13th birthday,

she wants the bullying to stop,

the voices to go away.

By 16 she want to be dead,

to end the pain,

and stop tears.

By 24 she graduates college,

the top of her class,

and starts to live her dream.

By 28 she's married,

to her high school sweetheart, 

her best friend.

By 60 she has 3 kids, 

one is a teacher,

one is a veterinarian, 

and one is a ballet teacher.

When she takes her last breath at 93,

she thinks to herself,

"Life does get better."
