Aaron's POV

___________________________

As we pulled into the driveway, a sense of dread filled my heart. How was I going to tell her? And if she didn't believe me, how would I get her to? These questions buzzed about in my mind as we both stepped out of the car and walked onto her porch.

I turned to her, only to find her standing with her hands in her pockets and a concerned look on her face. "Now that we're here, tell me what's going on with you." I grimaced, looking at the ground. "I've been keeping a secret from you..." I began. She raised a suspicious eyebrow at me. "...What would that be?" She said, a strain in her voice. "You probably won't believe me, b-but..." I swallowed. "I'm the lead singer. The guy in that song that you like? That's me. I created AWOLnation." She stared at me in disbelief for a moment, trying to convince herself that what she was hearing was false. "You're... You're kidding, right?" She stammered, tearing up slightly. The yellow in her hazel eyes flickered like fire as she grew angrier, her tears glistening under the shining porch light. "You can't be... You wouldn't keep something that important hidden from me, would you...?" Her words were like daggers of guilt, stabbing me in the chest. "S-Syd... I'm sorry... I wanted to tell y-" "SAVE IT!" She shouted, cutting me off. "I thought you were just a normal guy... Someone I could go on normal dates with... But no. You're some HUGE star with thousands of fangirls clawing at your feet and you didn't even tell me!" She said, shoving me. I stood there; speechless; numb. "You basically led me on this whole time! You're nothing but a LIAR!" She yelled, louder this time. She wouldn't even give me a chance to explain! I opened my mouth to object, but before I knew what was happening, a sharp pain struck the side of my face. Everything was blurry for a moment as I reached up to cover my cheek. I stared at her in utter shock. The tears that she had been trying so hard to hold back were now streaming down her cheeks as she glared at me, betrayed and angry. "Sydney, please!" I pleaded, tearing up. "Just let me explain!" She held up her hands, walking to her door. "There's no need." She said in a hushed tone. "Don't ever come over here again." And with that, she went inside, slamming the door behind her and flicking off the light.

I stood there in the darkness for a moment before getting in my car and driving home. As soon as I walked into the house, I started sobbing.

I had just lost the most important person in my life...

And she didn't even let me explain myself.
