Today marks two and a half weeks that Evan had dumped on date night before the date even started. I sound bitter, but I'm not. It still sucks, but I've learned a lot. I've learned not to cry over spilled milk. I never truly payed mind to that silly expression, but it's actually a meaningful one. Evan no longer wanted me. I wasn't what was making his heart skip a beat anymore. Why should I allow myself to be sad day in and day out over someone that's probably already onto the next one.

Oh, and today was also my birthday. I decided to work on my birthday. I was given multiple opportunities to call off, but I decided against it. I didn't want to sit at home thinking about how I should be at the beach with Evan so I decided to work and keep my mind occupied. It was working. It wasn't that bad either because Dinah and Normani opted to work today so they can spend my birthday with me. I'm telling you, I've got the greatest best friends a girl could dream up.

"I'm going on my break. Do you think you can take table 3? They just came in, and they're really cute. I'm kinda bummed I'm on break." Jilly asked when she walked into the kitchen. I grabbed the salad for an old man at table 6. I nodded. "Sure, I'll take it." She clapped her hands and hugged me. "Thank you, and happy birthday again." I smiled as Jilly and her big hair bounced out of the kitchen. I walked out a moment after her.

I glanced at table 3, and she wasn't lying. The two boys were really cute. I didn't get a great glance at the other, but I could just feel that both were attractive. I placed the salad on the table. "There's a side of ranch dressing there, just like you asked for. Do you need anything else?" The old man shook his head. He wasn't the friendliest. I cleared my throat and nodded awkwardly.

I scurried over to table 3, and pulled out my notepad and pen. I looked up at the guys. They were littered in arm tattoos. They were extremely attractive. I tried not to make too much eye contact because it would very much come off as gawking. "I'm Lauren. I'm going to be taking care of you tonight. Can I start you guys off with some drinks? We have coke products-" I stopped talking when the tanner of the two said, "Are you ready because I am." "Yeah, I'm ready." Their english accents took me for surprise. I nearly fell over. It should be illegal to be that attractive and then have the cherry on top be an irresistible accent.

"I can take your orders now," I nodded.
"I'll take the poly meltdown. I've never heard of it, but it sounds delicious, and a coke." I wrote it down, and nodded. I glanced at the other guy that was smirking at me. "Well, Lauren. I'll have the same exact thing as my mate here."
"That makes everything easier. I'll put that right in and bring your drinks out." I gave them an overly friendly smile, and hurried behind the counter. I hung the order sheet up, and hit the bell on the counter top. Dinah was pouring coffee. I started pouring the two cups of water.

"I've got two code nines at table 3," I said. Dinah stared at me confused and then her eyes widened when she remembered the codes we used to have in high school. A code nine was someone so attractive that you might actually faint. "Two of them?" I nodded my head and headed over to the table. Dinah followed behind me.

"I've got two waters for y-" That's when Dinah tripped on air and fell into me so forecfully that the two cups of water I was carrying fell over onto the table. The two boys jumped up in their seats. Some water unfortunately did get on them. My mouth popped open in disbelief. I turned to Dinah who had her hand over her mouth, but she winked. That wink let me know that this was all on purpose. I glared at her, and turned back to the guys who were now throwing napkins onto the table.

"Wow. I am so so sorry," I said pushing a strand of hair behind my ears that were turning red like my face from embarrassment. "It's my fault. I'm such a clutz," Dinah said. We pulled rags out of our apron pockets and started wiping up the massive spill. Normani walked over. "Of course it would be you guys. I'll go get the mop," she said disapperaring quicker than she appeared.
