I looked out the window, seeing how the rain drops raced each other down the window sill. I was sitting on my black leather armchair with a blanket on my lap, right next to the fireplace. My mug filled with hot chocolate, sat on the coffee table.
"Ana, your phone is ringing," screamed my mom from upstairs, for the millionth time.
I didn't need for her to tell me who it was to know it was Niall, my boyfriend. Yes, Niall Horan from One Direction. We had gotten into a huge argument earlier this day. He has been calling for the last four hours now. I want to answer him and talk it out, but I'm afraid we'll just end up arguing again. Sure, we've had a couple fights already. I mean we have been dating for the last year and a half. But this fight was different. We had screamed at each other and said horrible things that we couldn't take back.
Just at the thought of all the awful things we said made my chest constrict. My heart felt like it was being stabbed by multiple knifes, and all I could do was stand there and watch. I felt the tears coming again. My eyes began to burn, and before I could stop them, the first few tears leaked out of my eyes and down my check.
I had been trying not to cry, but I couldn't help it now. His words weren't the things that hurt the most, his actions were.
I looked out the window once again and replayed what had happened.

Potatoes! Potatoes! Potatoes!
I picked up my phone from the bedside table and clicked the answer button.
"Hello?" I answered groggily. Damn. I cleared my throat.
"Hey babe didn't mean to wake you up," responded the person on the other end. I recognized his voice immediately. Niall. That instantly brought a smile to my face.
"It's alright. I had to get up anyway," I lied. I didn't want to make him feel bad. I knew him well enough to know he would hang up and let me get back to sleep.
"Oh, okay."
"So, what's up?"
Silence.
"Niall?"
"Oh yea, sorry 'bout that. I forgot what I was going to say there for a second. Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today. I was thinking 'bout breakfast and then going 'round the mall for a bit."
Ugh, the mall. I didn't really like shopping, but whenever Niall suggested it, I couldn't say no to him. Besides, he was buying me breakfast and I was hungry. A trip to the mall didn't sound so bad.
"Yea, sure. What time are you going to pick me up?" I questioned.
"I'll be there in an hour," he answered.
"Okay. See you in a bit then. I have to go get ready."
"Alright, bye."
"Bye."
I hung up and jumped out of bed. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then, I took a quick shower. I decided to wear black skinny jeans and a white long sleeved shirt. The weather forecast person said it was going to be cold today and possibly rain. I put on my converse, grabbed my phone, and headed down the stairs to the living room. Just as I took the last step, the doorbell rang.
My mom was in the kitchen, humming happily to herself.
"Bye mom," I called out to her.
"Bye hunny," she screamed back.
