Stupid Lifeguard

The next day rolls in and me and Allie decide to go swimming in the community pool near the complex.

I didn't tell Allie about last night because I know she is going to start shipping us and that's the last thing I need.

After Blake not telling me the story about why he punched the senior, we just stood there and looked at the sky.

We did this till midnight, just the cars zooming down below us and the lights shinning bright. It was a comfortable silence and it felt surprisingly good.

I thought we'd end up fighting in the next two minutes when I reached the top.

"Hey Tori, can I borrow one of your bikinis?" Allie asked bringing me out of my thoughts. I nod my head and go to my room.

I take a black one and give it to her. She quickly thanks me and heads to the bathroom to change. I too head to my room and start to change.

I rarely go to the pool so my swimsuits are technically new. I put on an Aztec like bikini. The bra part being red and the the bottom having a tribal pattern.

I put a white sundress on and start packing a bag of necessities. I'm not really pale but I still burn like potato in the sun.

I put sunscreen, my sunglasses and a towel in the bag. I quickly put my hair in a messy bun and head out of the room. I grab my phone from the coffee table and stuff it in my bag. Allie comes out with a grey hoodie and nike shorts.

Allie was very pale unlike me. She always tried to get tanned but she too would just burn like me.

"Did you bring sunscreen Tori?" Allie asked as she rolled up the sleeves of her hoodie. I nod my head and with that we head out.

It was already three o'clock and it was a little cloudy, so the sun was not going to be really deadly. It only takes about five minutes to walk to the pool and taking a car would be no use. We start to walk and talk about all sorts of things.

"Hey I heard you go out in the middle of the night. Where did you go?" Allie says wiping her already sweaty forehead. Since I couldn't really avoid the question, "I went up to the rooftop, just wanted to think" I replied leaving the part of Blake being there. Allie just muttered oh.

It's not that I didn't want to tell her, it's just that I didn't think she needed to know.

We finally reached the pool, we were ready to jump in. We enter the gate and put our stuff on the lounge chairs. I take a moment to admire the shining pool.

There were two pools. One was for the little kids— the pool being 2ft to 4ft max— and then the pool where the older kids and adults swim— it being 5ft to 9ft.

I always loved swimming. The cool water surrounding your body, the quietness when you went under.

I noticed the lifeguard chair was vacant. Well someone was not doing their job. Not wanting to waste time thinking about how the life guard should be fired, I take my sundress off.

I start to apply some sunscreen, when I see Allie laying down on the lounge chair.

"Umm Allie, aren't you going to put on some sunscreen?" I ask as I apply some on my legs.

"Nah, I wanna see if I'll get tanned this time" Allie replied with her eyes closed.

Poor Allie, she's experimenting again. Just because she hasn't tanned in a year doesn't mean she'll get tanned now.

Shaking my head, I head towards the pool. Seeing the no diving sign, I just jump right in.

My once hot body is now cooled by the water. I stay under the water, just enjoying the coolness and quietness. Thank god there weren't any people today.

I surface back up to see Allie plugging in her headphones. "Come in the pool a bit, okay?" I shout so she could hear me. Giving me a thumbs up, Allie went back to tanning her albino skin.

I floated on my back, the sun kissing my face. I kicked a little and moved my hands so I could move to the deeper end.

That's when my body decided to just give up. My legs started to crap. I couldn't move them because they hurt like hell.

I'm a weak person, so my upper body strength was not fit. I flailed my arms up trying to get Allies attention. But she had her eyes closed, with headphones plugged in her ears.

Great, just great. I'm going to die because my best friend was 'tanning' and the stupid life guard was not here.

I take a deep breath and try to move under water with my arms. I'm moving but not fast enough.

I start to lose oxygen and strength. Wow my death is sure going to be a story to tell up in heaven.

I hear a splash in the background. I then feel hands go around my waist which pull me up to the surface.

Okay I may not die then

I gasp for air and spit out the water that was in my lungs. I see a worried Allie at the edge of the pool. She's saying something but I can't really understand.

The person who pulled me up, put me on the ground. I cough out more water and try to get my breathing right.

"Oh my gosh Tori!! Are you okay? Of course she's not okay Allie, what a stupid question..." I hear Allie talking to herself.

I laugh a little. She always talks to herself when she is nervous. "I'm fine Allie" I finally say to her. She calms down and pulls me into a hug.

Allie pulls out of the hug and looks up, "Thank you so much Blake!" Wait... What did Allie just say? Did I hear right? I must have water in my ears.

I look behind me to see, Blake. I did hear right. He was wearing a white tank top that had the word 'lifeguard'.

"Your the lifeguard? Where the hell were you?! You can't just leave your spot, what if someone drowned huh? I could have DIED!!" I yell standing up.

Blake just stares at me with a blank expression.

"Let me answer your questions princess. First of all, yes I'm the lifeguard hence the top" he says pointing to his tank top.

I was going to say something when he interrupted, "hold on now I'm not done yet. Second I was using the restroom, like any other human and the only person who was drowning was you and I saved your sorry ass" Blake finished with a smirk on his face

I wanted to slap it off this face so bad. He looks down at his wet shirt and started to take it off.

The world all of a sudden went in slow motion. You know like in the movies. I tried to look away but I couldn't.

Dammmmnnnn. No SHUTUP. No, no dammmnnnn.

But it was damn. His six pack was glistening from the water dripping down his body. And let's not forget the his pants a little low on this body showing his pelvis.

I cringe at my own thoughts. I quickly look up, not wanting to get caught looking, but luck wasn't on my side because Blake was just smiling at me. He saw me drooling.

"Like what you see?" Blake smugly asked.

"Phhhtt I've seen better" I lied and started to walk back to my chair.

But not before slipping and falling into the pool.
