1: I Have Pain Too

I have pain too

Just like you

I had a tumor at the age of nine

Pulsing hurting

Sticking out of my side

like cartoonish bump

Benign it was,

But if it wasn't removed

I could've died too

I have pain too

Just like you

What was I? Five?

Faster faster they said

A slip and a fall

A rocky path I kiss hello

Emergency no tears

They said no scars

But the evidence lies on my face

I have pain too

Just like you

First grade

An outbreak breaks

Chicken pox consumes

2 weeks out

Tears and itching

Running away from hugs

From people wanting to get

What I had unwillingly got

I have pain too

Just like you

Sleep is both my friend and enemy

I guess it would be my frenemy

Welcoming it after a long day

Only to be betrayed

By nightmares plaguing my brain

Rare nights I turn into a wizard

Able to take hold of the plague

And end it before it ends me

I feel pain too

Just like you

Anxiety is a train

Kept at bay by thin rails

Ready to derail at any time

And sometimes I do

I derail soon into chaos

Self loathing pain worries

I become the melting pot of stress

I have pain too

Just like you

I don't bring up my struggles

Not to you at least

If I mention pain

I mention soreness

The pain after a shot

Only to be cut off

By your "oh. That doesn't hurt"

Followed by your pains

Your struggles

And I quiet

I accept your woes

I accept your cries of pain

Because I know

Your pains are valid

But you seem to forget

That mine are also.

I have pain too

Just like you.
