"My classes are horrible," said Jack as he sits down next to Skylar. They were sitting in the cafeteria during lunch. Students all around them were loud; Kyo could hear every conversation throughout the cafeteria. Some were appropriate, others were not. One group of troublemakers were discussing their next crime.
"Baby! My love! My life! My forever!" Skylar said. He squeezes Jack. "Ew! Ew! Ew! You're so sweaty!"
Kyo laughs. She had no idea how Skylar and Jack became such the perfect couple. They were both very different from each other; Jack loves to exercise, he plays nearly every sport in school. Skylar did not. He hates sweating, running, and being out of breathe. Skylar would rather go shopping while Jack would rather play games. Kyo guesses that the saying, "Opposites do attract", must be very true in this case.
Skylar rolls his eyes, "To be in school's spirit! I want to make sure I look the most spirited. That way I'll definitely be in the yearbook!"
The yearbook mostly focused on women in the school, the only time they feature the males are on the school's picture day. If Skylar really wants to be in it, he has to stand out the most. He has to stand out more than the women, and that is a challenge.
"Of course, Skylar. I'll ask my mothers if they will take us to go get some paint next week."
Skylar eyes lit up, "You think they will take us?"
"Well, Cybil might be busy. But Karen will take us, I'm sure of it. Especially if it's for school."
"Your mothers are the best!" Skylar said.
"You will be the most spirited student this school has ever seen," Jack said. He leans toward Skylar and rubs his nose on Skylar's nose.
"Thanks, Love!" Skylar said. "Why are your classes horrible?"
Jack grins, "Because you haven't been in a single one of my classes so far."
Skylar pouts and replies with a baby voice, "Oh, Baby, I'm sorry. You know I tried picking the same classes with you. It's not my fault the mean school is keeping us away."
Kyo rolls her eyes at them, "You guys are totally disgusting."
"Oh, Darlin, I'm sorry. This must be really weird for you." Skylar said. "I cannot wait for you to get a girlfriend. Surely this year you will."
Kyo frowns, "Now, Skylar, you know I don't care about dating right now."
"You say that but you never had a girlfriend before. It might do you some good to have one."
Kyo rolls her eyes, "I never had one because I never found a girl that I liked. Yeah, Skylar, I know, I'm being picky. And, yes, Jack, I think some girls are cute but I don't feel anything toward them. When I get into a relationship, I want it to be with someone I won't regret dating. Someone that truly makes me happy. I want something real."
"It sounds like you want a fairytale." Jack tells her.
"Babe, that's rude," Skylar nudges Jack with his elbow.
"Ouch, sorry."
"It's alright boys." Kyo tells them, "Maybe I will find someone to date this year. Maybe."
"What about Crystal?" Skylar says jokingly.
"Fuck that! You know I can't stand that bitch." Kyo looks up and sees the school bully, Damen, walk up to their table, "Uh oh, it's Damen."
Skylar whispers, "What does he want?"
Kyo shrugs, not wanting to say anything with Damen being so close by. He has been a bully ever since Kyo first met him back in the second grade. He grew up looking more of a bully with each day that passes; mean looking face, a scar across his cheek from the time he went to jail for a few days, tattoos up and down his arms, and he never smiles. Ever.
