Staring at the phone
Waiting for the screen to
Light up with your name
The hours whiz by
You're still on my mind
My brain and heart race
I stay awake at night
Still waiting for you to call
The phone still isn't blinking, you see
The sinking feeling
In my stomach tells me
You aren't even thinking of me
So I shift my position
I close my eyes
Tell myself stop being a fool
I was sinking to sleep
And then I hear the ring
I check the phone; it's you.
