Chapter 7

I did not enjoy the fact that Alexandra was making me seem vulnerable and weak again: though I kinda knew I was, but still. I could see her boasting about helping me now in the near future. I didn't like that girl one bit, even though she was pretty and is after all, rescuing my ass. Last time round when someone stood up for me, that person bragged about it to everyone and made me seem like a pushover. That person was Meggie. Two years ago. I actually though she'd finally stop bullying me then. What an ignorent fool I was.

The watching crowd gave a collective gasp with jaws slacked open and indistintively parted like the red sea, letting Alexandra through. Some students had their shiny smartphones out, recording the entire scene which will definetly be out onto the world wide web in 3 minutes, more or less. She then took my hand and dragged me out, but not before glaring daggers so deadly at everyone. Especially the four girls who looked comical with their stuttering. As we exited the cafeteria, Zachery was following closely along, but the moment we were out of hearing range, I struggled to have her hands off mine. This cannot be real. But damn, she was strong.

"Let go of me!" I seethed, a frown marring my face as I grinded my feet onto the polished marble floor.

Glancing at my expression, she quickly released my wrist and calmly said, "We need to get you cleaned, Kylie." I hated that she sounded like she was talking to a pertulant child. Which was apperently me. I looked at Zachery, but that unhelpful brat, he merely shrugged his shoulders.

"You don't like me," I stated wearily.

"That's true but I'll explain everything later. Now we got to have you cleaned up," she then procceeded to drag me to the nearest washroom.

Now looking at her fully, I could see she had changed drastically since the accident that made the world think she was dead two years ago. Alexandra was around my height but an inch or two taller with the pretty  nude-shaded pumps and an emerald designer maxi dress she was wearing. Her hair was a wavy golden brown as so were her eyes which was framed with eyelashes so long they brushed against her perfect cheekbones. The only similarity between Alexandra and Zachery were their full lips, nose, cheeckbones and eyelashes. While Zachery's hair and eye colour were a darker shade than Alexandra's.  Posture of a classy astrocratic, she emmited a sense of confidence and strong-willingness while Zachery was just warm, cuddley and mostly protectiveness all over.

"I thought you died... The world hasn't seen you since two years ago. How did you survive the crash?"

"Someone saved me," She muttered vaguely.

I motioned with my hands for her to continue but she just replied, "later."

"Why are you doing this?" I asked curiously.

"Why not?" She countered.

I shrugged my shoulders and we both fell into an understanding silence unbrokened for a while.

Alexandra spent sometime using tissue paper and water to clean off the wasted food off my face and hair but when it came to the clothes, she frowned but perked up quickly after, motioning me to 'wait here'. She strided out, leaving me to figure out her true motives for her kindness. Or whatever she's doing it out of.

A knock came out from the door and Zachery peeked into the bathroom, with a smile terribly trying to conceal his grimace.

"Hey... Are you okay?"

I raised my eyesbrows and gave him a 'WTH' look.

Zachery chuckled and waltz into the bathroom. "Why did those people attack you?" He asked, staring into my eyes as if daring me to lie. I lied anyways.

"I don't know... It isn't like I never been though that before..." I trailed off. The second part wasn't a lie though.

*please believe me. please believe me* I chanted in my head.

Zachery nodded but looked skeptical reguardless. "You know that if you ever need me, I'll always be there for you, right? Even though we've only met... uh... yesterday" His gaze bored into my eyes, making me feel a tad bit... uncomfortable. At that exact moment, the other twin burst into the doors, a triumph smile on her face. She swatted Zachery away, making the latter mutter some incoherent words that only Alexandra manage to hear, leading to a kick in the ass out of the door, an affectionate and playful smile on her face before she turned around and passed me the outfit. The impassive smile back on. "This would surfice for now," she murmured and before I could protest, she pushed me into one of the bathroom cubicle, shutting the door on my face, a scowl clearly evident. Who was she to push me around? I guess it'll be better to get this day over with if I co-operate with the Kade siblings. The dress was uh... not what I'd wear after a rescue mission in the cafeteria though. This dresses screamed 'Look-At-Me'. I won't usually wear that... I usually wore 'Please-Look-The-Other-Way' type. So that I won't get targeted again. Really.

My resistence to the dress dissolved when Alaxandra started calling out ways to make me hurry up. Some dangerous ones including medival torture methods on the students that we involved in the cafeteria fiasco... and me, if I don't hurry up. Man, she's scary. The silk halterneck red sundress stopped mid-thigh, though not revealling if I bend forward. That's good. Something I would pick to wear on a relaxing trip to Bali. However, the dress looked completely inappropriate in this scenerio. Nevermind. I walked out and an impatient Alaxandra awaited, with her perfectly slender manicured fingers tapping a rhythemic beat and placed her iphone into the Kate Spade clutch. "Let's go. Zach's waiting at his car," she did not give me a second glance or time to reply (again) as Little Miss Perfect glided out of the door. I quickly tied my hair back into a slick braid as I followed, not missing the venomous glares from the other girls in school. Being merely aquaintences with Alaxandra Chloe Kade was a straight A-list ticket to famous-land. Everyone knew that. I knew that. But I didn't need Alaxandra to have that.

The twins were having a heated arguement as I walked towards them, my name mentioned more than once but what they eere arguing about I cannot comprehend. I cleared my throat as I neared them, getting their attention as they fell into an unhealthy silence. Zachery gave his sister a hard glare before sliding into his car, Alexandra followed suit and sat at the front, slamming the door in her wake. I slided in silently. Zach immediately started the car and swerved out onto the main road. I've never seen him so annoyed before. I've never seen anyone posses such a high intensity of that. Everyone treated me like fine Venician glass after the accident. Well, my family and teachers, that is. Breaking the prolonged silence, I said, "So... I heard my name just now." No one offered an explaination, making the silence must more tense.

We finally arrived at the designated place: Starbucks. Why is it that every cliche thing in the world starts at Starbucks? Zach held the door open, letting the smell of freshly brewed coffee seep into my pores. It was rather deserted, given that it was still school time. The only patrons were a strict business woman typing furiously on her laptop and a group of gossiping tweens.

"Coffee for you, Kylie?" asked Alaxendra. I nodded before ordering a cup of Tall Chocolate Frap. Yum. Surprisingly, she had ordered the same thing too. We then moved into the more secluded area of the coffee shop, where we were shaded from the recognision glances of the group of girls, apperently figuring out who the twins were. Though apperently the redhead out of the four seemed to stare alittle too attently at me with her too-big green eyes, like she recognised me, but as I stared back at her, she adverted her prying eyes and started drinking her coffee quickly. Too close.

"Well shall we get down to business?" Zachery coughed up.

"Do you know who you are, Kylie?" Alaxandra blurted out, seriousness in her posture and face. Her bluntness earned another glare from her twin, though she ignored it.

"I'm Kylie Holt... I study in Krestwood Elite through a scholars-"

"Lie." It was Zachery.

I mustered up a confused look, though my heart was thumping unnaturally fast. He had only known me like what...yesterday?

"We know who you are, Kylie." Alaxandra murmured.

"I-" I tried lying again.

"Kylie Athena Fallon, daughter of Elizabeth and Benjamin Fallon." Zachery supplied. I gasped.
